My steak has to be Rare.. or at the very worst..Medium Rare... but it really annoys me when Chefs' get annoyed with customers who order a Well done steak...

So what.. they're paying for your services as a Chef.. not a Diva tantrum...

The Queen would not eat a steak unless it was Very well done.. Can you imagine the Palace Chefs refusing to cook the steak ?.. They're there to do a job.. and get paid for it.. not to judge anyone's taste..

I rarely order a steak if I go out to eat as I can cook a pretty darn good one at home. Going out for a nice dinner, in my mind is something I can't cook at home or access the quality, like seafood, for instance. That said, I prefer medium rare. I have got it down to a fine science now at home. Generally, 2 or 3 minutes per side, depending on thickness of the steak. I also stand there, touching with a finger tip, should give to the touch, should not have to poke the steak, if it feels firm, you have gone too far.

Take it out of the pan or off the grill, let it rest for 5 minutes to reabsorb the juice into the meat. I use that time to add toppings to the baked potato, dress the salad etc. Then you are good to go. In addition, when we go out to eat, I like the salad served with the meal, it is a side dish for me. I don't like it as a so called starter. Am I weird?

I always prefer to order medium well, don't wanna see red, yuk lol

Now most others I know prefer to order it blue or rare, just walk the
cow past the oven once, and slap it on their plate...

I guess I am a steak hating monster. I don't each much beef!

That's okay, we could try different ways to cook shrimp and chicken! Those seem to be my favorite these days.

I don't order steak at a restaurant. I cook my own steak to perfection. That would be on the rarer side of medium rare. When I was a kid, I liked my steak very rare. My dad couldn't even L:oops::oops:k at it. The nights we had it for dinner, I was allowed to eat in the den and watch TV, so he wouldn't have to see it. 😁
