Organ Donation or Not?

While another thread deals with the end of life issue of burial and/or cremation how about organ donation? I have had the organ donor alert on my drivers license when they first started doing it. My feelings are that after someone has left their earthly body it's kind of sadly wasteful to burn or bury body parts that might help the living see and more.

For me anything they can harvest to help someone else is fine with me. For people who worry about open caskets and all it can still be done. The parts removed aren't visible and they fix up everything afterwords. Grim stuff but at our age we have to be realistic. I don't want my kids to be trying to guess my choices.

I am willing to be an organ donor, but I've often wondered, at our age, is there anything in good enough shape to be harvested?

(I guess you could say 'I'm an organ donor' but that wouldn't be correct as I haven't actually donated anything - yet)

I'll take your mustache....

Acccch as I'm gonna be cremated they can take all the parts they want if it will ease someone else's suffering and burn the rest ... although I'm not so sure much of it will be any good..:D
