Right now, one of the myriad of meds she needs is lorazepam

It's to curb any anxiety, of which triggers her seizures

Seems there's a national shortage

Thing is, some of her meds are to counteract reactions to her other meds, and alternates may even complicate things more

Right now it's up to the neurologists

But of course. Everything taken has to be under strict supervision. I just wondered if they might work since they are in the same family and so similar. I used to take lorazepam and now take clonazepam but I don’t have epilepsy.

I hope they find something for her.

Yes, maggiemae, we are a bit off hwy 97 tween Chiloquin and Chemult. On the right (sunny) side of the Cascade range
Yes,we are fully off grid.
I didn’t think I’d be OK with that either, but one adjusts, and one amasses generators like a normal person would collect spoons for cooking (we have six, all sizes for varying applications…two of those are for backup)
I may go solar, but those prices hafta go down and/or those batteries hafta get better….much better.
Our Honda 2000 is my go to genny
It supplies all we need for the cabin we live in

I saw all those fertile raised beds you had going and I’m wondering how you store/ save stuff. Do you freeze some stuff? Can it? Store root veggies in a cellar? Do you make big batches of certain recipes and freeze it all or all the above?

How’s that precious granddaughter of yours?
Did she get the medicine she needed?lorazepam?

Prepping for canning season
Freezers are full and need rotating
Too many tomatoes (as usual)

Experimenting with green tomatoes (jams and salsas)

Got her meds, but limited
If I remember him saying, it's 'use when needed'

Unfortunately, her seizures have escalated, worse at night.
So, at present, it's only a weeks' worth...or there abouts

We're picking up another limited dose for him tomorrow

They're at the cabin
No more commercial fishing trips unless she eases back on the seizures
They love it so out there
Does our hearts good to know that

We would have loads of tomatoes too but at least you can freeze them and easily. We make big batches of spaghetti sauce with them.

Salsa and preserves or chutneys are fun to make

I’m sorry to hear the seizures are getting worse. What a humbling reality this is for them all. I know this isn’t near the same but we had a dog that was blind, diabetic and had seizures. The seizures were scary. Years later when she had a seizure we watched our little Yorkie jump down and lay on top of her until they stopped. It was an incredible thing to realize that they instinctively know what to do.

I wish your granddaughter the best.
