Our version of retirement: Living a childhood dream

The trees here in the East are pretty bare.

It makes me chuckle to see a dozen city workers with a couple million dollars worth of equipment scooping them up before the first big snow.

It makes me sad that I don’t see kids out making a buck raking leaves or the younger kids playing in them.

I suppose that they have a video game or app for playing in leaves.
😉🤭😂

As @Aunt Bea said, our deciduous trees here are now mostly bare. Just a few oaks hanging on to their leaves.

After all these years, I still haven't figured out how to predict a good color season. This fall was okay but sorta "ho-hum". Lots of greens, yellows, tans and browns but not as many of the brilliant reds and oranges that make for great New England fall color. Still pretty nonetheless.

Well, I guess the ho-hum years are what make the great years stand out! ;)

Getting dumped on right now

Got a half foot last night
still snowing
Good to hear that all is well with you and yours.

We had a very cold day today but, very bright and fresh so, not complaining :)

Snow doesn't settle for long here but, when we have a smattering of snow, everything stops! The trains get cancelled and everyone stays at home. Us city folk don't handle weather very well!

Keep warm :)

Thanks for the picture of "Gary'O Frost" that you sent me......

Our Version of Retirement. Monday, a text from work: "Can you help?" That took four hours. The same yesterday five and a half hours. Today my phone has just pinged a text, from work........see you all later.
Why do I do it? It's stimulating, it keeps the grey cells ticking over and it beats daytime television.
