Over 70 Dead From Tornadoes Across South & Midweast

Does anyone know where you can get a list of the names of those confirmed killed by the tornado in Kentucky?

Early post-Katrina, there was a message board for Mississippi Gulf Coast residents to post the status of people they knew were alive, missing or confirmed dead. It was shut down pretty quick due to privacy issues.

Maybe I have no right to ask or wonder ? ....................... But I do just the same.

Where are the hoards of billionaires in all of this ? Are they going to 'step-up' ? I mean they can , collectively or individually come up with some real amounts of $$$ ..... in terms of help . And it would have little to no impact on their personal wealth really.

And before anyone asks ..... yes i have already sent off a check, and am going to send another , to an additional 'help' organization. But my contributions pail in comparsion to what the mega-rich are capable of.

I wonder how long it will take them to get back to any semblance of normal, or if they ever will.
I suppose they are all wondering what to do. They would probably have a partial insurance payment even if they don't rebuild, so it might be an opportunity to a portion of people to move someplace else.
When I lived overseas where there was a threat of being shelled, the apartments had a reinforced room. I'd think it would be good for homes in tornado areas to come standard with at least a reinforced closet.
The house I live in did not have a garage when we bought it, and when we had the garage added we included a reinforced tornado closet. I am not totally happy with it because we had a very subpar contractor and although I gave him a copy of the FEMA design, he did not include the little bit of wall that is supposed to protect the metal door. If we have a tornado I imagine I could easily be trapped in the closet. It is worrisome how long it seems to be taking in Kentucky for them to hunt for survivors.

I suppose they might feel they pay taxes that helps support FEMA and maybe they have a regular contribution to the Red Cross, so they might feel they have done their part already. I'm not sure how the finances of these things work, I can see there would be a need to house and feed some of the displaced people, but I don't know what exactly insurance covers. I think my car insurance includes a low rental rate for a month. But I have no idea what might happen if a house is destroyed, does a person have to keep paying their mortgage payments while also having to pay to rent until the house is rebuilt? Or does the insurance pay off the mortgage and you get a new mortgage for the rebuilt house? I remember the bank requiring us to have flood insurance, so I'm guessing the insurance pays the bank.
