Parking Like Poop- Curbs, Lines and Lazyness

Just want to comment on the some driver related parking issues like most people don't know how to park or where to park. Or care about private property or fellow drivers.

First we have mall madness where everyone wants to park as close as they can to entrance even though they have no disabilities. Then we have those who just pull in between the lines, not in the center of the lines but simply in between sometime edging the white line. And ignoring things like their opening the door will ding, dent or scratch the car next to them. Then we have the doubler taking up two spaces where some actually use that as a signal to stay away from their car. It's amazing how many people don't want to make more than one maneuver when parking. We can't forget the tricky Richard who wants to do back-in parking no matter what-many business require their employees to back-in parking so when they pull out they don't hit anything but there are still a lot of fancy Dans out there.

Then we come to my favorite-Curb parking or lack there of. The curb cutie. It's called parallel parking which is usually a three maneuver process. But again when have people who just want to do it in one fail swoop. Sometimes leaving a foot between the curb and the car(6 inches law in most places). Side note for nit pickers. Next time you watch your favorite police show observe the parking job the actors wind up doing in detail-NCIS LA fail miserably.

Then we have the ignorant and contractor parking up on the curb. They must feel like they are a kid sitting in the front seat because parking on the curb(and DAMAGING it) seems to give them a thrill. First many places have laws against parking on the sidewalk and/or curb partly because they obstruct the sidewalk and in some cases that is parking on private property. For some reason most contractors feel they are 911 because they park anywhere and everywhere. I have nothing against contractors but I do have something against ignorance, arrogance, negligence and stupidity. But they FAIL to realize the weight of vehicle even a pick-up can cause thousands of dollars of damage to a curb, grass and sidewalk slab. But they insist. To top it off many homeowners are gonads. They think the curb(grass and concrete) is the highway departments job to repair. So many let obvious damage go on years on end. Then the ignorant drivers see that no one seems to care about that curb or their property make it worse it themselves by parking on it. Besides concrete damage if the grass gets too smashed puddles water can build and seep underneath compromising the surface on top by washing away the dirt underneath(mini sink hole). And by the way utilities are allowed access to your property but NOT to damage it so if a utility damages your property they are responsible-that is not the normal course of business.

To sum things up. Drivers are lazy, stupid, ignorant, negligent, lack conscience, lack attention to detail and professionalism when it comes to parking. Most people park like poop.

Sometimes I wonder why they even bother putting lines in parking lots. Too many drivers don't understand

the concept : "Park BETWEEN the lines; not ON them " !!

I'm thoughtful of others, try to keep out of the way and not take more then my own space;) and super-good at tight spaces.

Ill just park here.jpgI'll just park over here.

I see these as well, good job catching it on your camera. It seems quite normal to some, that driving like an idiot is better then going a block out of your way if you are in the wrong lane. One of the worst things I see, endangering so many lives (what are they thinking, obviously of no one but themselves and their own comfort) is when someone cuts across 3 or more lanes of traffic to make an off-ramp. So the 10 car pile up killing several happens but hey, the thoughtless person didn't have to go a mile out of their way to get to where they "so needed" to go.

Yes, you are right to do something to stay calm, I'm trying to think of a way, walking up and beating them with my bat isn't working for me:hit:

I think I am pretty good at......but I have just had parking alarms put at the back of the car...it does help guage the distance behind.
