I know that... that's what is the most annoying part...

.... because in essence they have killed these children .. they've killed the childhood innocence, the future mental peace, and that's without taking into consideration any physical injuries they may have inflicted...

yes it happens... but it's rare. because mostly these monsters are potected.They go to the shower with a protection officer.. to the yard for exercise on their own or with another sex offender ..... sometimes it's years before another murderer gets the chance to attack a sex offender... and then it's usually on the spur of the moment when an officer's back is turned for a moment..

You know this better than anyone Nathan..

ETA...for newbies who don't know.... please don't think Nathan is an offender.... you may have got that impression from my post.... he is in fact someone who worked in prisons for many years !

Being new, and the title of this thread, worried me that it was siding with pedos, that we just don't understnad them. Until I read all the posts.

I think many things play in and I do think it's more prevalent. Of course we do hear about it more with the internet but I still think it's more prevalent.

Porn itself can lead someone astray... Imo anyhow. They might start with basic porn and then things like young teens, bestiality, nursing moms, all sorts of things pop up to porn users...

Is it a sickness in many? Yes, I'd say so, but I also think some can just be led astray until they just have no rules and that's what is attracting them.

I think lack of morals and church play in. No one has to believe in religion to believe most of the Ten Commandments are good rules. Like thou shalt not kill. Would any argue that except in defense of one self or a loved one?

The internet definitely aids it.

Personall I think crimes against children (and the elderly or extremely vulnerable) should be the harshest charged and sentenced. The system though is getting very soft on sentencing in general for more serious crimes imo, and not just in our country (US).

Both CA and CSA should be sentenced harshly. Of course WITH proof of course. But even many of the states that still have it do not act on it any longer. And the ones that do carry it out, appeals keep most of them sitting until they die in prison anyhow.

As an aside, I believe in the DP, in some cases, with irrefutable evidence of course.

I also believe in how it is to be which is when someone is a danger to society and the rest of us, they put the rest of people first and their safety.

There are quite a few inmates walking the SNY yards with wicked slash marks on a cheek, or throat. You may(or may not) be surprised by the level of concern the correctional officers have for the safety of a sex offender.

I'm not in the least surprised. I've been told ..I don't know if it's true... that protection officers' jobs are on the line if their charge gets attacked...

Oh, for sure, like if an inmate hangs himself in his suicide watch cell, when under every 15 minute observation. But, sooner or later when out on the yard something can go down in the blink of an eye. The inmates constantly observes the staff, looking for opportunities to do what they want to do.

In the Benno L. case[1] in 2010, a swimming instructor was found guilty of three counts of forced sexual abuse (sexual assault), and 37 other counts. As a sexual offense case with one perpetrator and originally 98 potential victims, this is one of the largest, if not the largest, of its kind in the history of Dutch jurisprudence.

He got only 6 years prison, but after 3 years he could get out and live in a neighbourhood with an ankle band.

In 2015 he moves to Germany. He makes a documentary from his time with the ankle band and gets a golden award.

The city in Germany finds out who he is. He changes his name, moves and lives with a refugee family and rapes both their kids and now he has 9 years plus tbs in Germany.

And when someone in Belgium says she's a victim and there's a pedo ring and people believe it they say they're crazy conspiracists. How else is this possible? Who gives this man 6 years? That judge must be a pedo himself. This is so evil and insane.
 
I've seen some people argue that pedophiles are only of children up to a certain age. We know like an older teen it is often statutory rape.

What is everyone's opinion on that. Is pedophilia only younger children and at what age would you say that cuts off?

States do differ some I know on the age of consent. I believe anyhow.

No they're not elected. It's not one bad judge. This happens always. The only ones who did something against it are some muslim young guys. They killed one in my city after setting him up.

Online court records show Dave Davidson, 57, was charged in October of 2023 with eight counts of third-degree sexual abuse and one count of lascivious acts with a child. The abuse happened between 2015 and 2018, and the victim was 12 to 13 years old when it began.

As part of a plea agreement, in April of 2025, Davidson pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree sexual abuse. He was given a 10-year suspended sentence and placed on three years of probation, ordered to complete a sex offender treatment program, ordered to obtain and maintain employment, and placed on the sex offender registry for life.

A violation report filed in March by Davidson’s parole officer claims he has twice been kicked out of sex offender treatment programs for allegedly blaming the victim and “his inability to acknowledge his responsibility in sexually abusing his victim.”

The report also stated Davidson has not been seeking employment, as is required.

The parole officer recommended that his parole be revoked that the original sentence be imposed.

We need a way to keep society safe even before crimes are committed, while I don't want some creepy application of it, it would be nice if there was a way to test for the various antisocial disorders early in life, and get people meds, therapy, and/or monitoring etc.
 
It's not only that, I've followed cases where the SO is lying about where he resides OR they slip the ankle bracelet (if they HAVE one) and/or conditions and the parole officers aren't monitoring the guy as they should be.

In Holland you don't know if a predator lives in the neighbourhood. Privacy for the rapist.
 
I was molested by 2 family members and one stranger before I was 4 years old. I didn't tell my Mom
about it until I was 29 because I blocked it out. My personality changed and no one noticed I realize now.
Each one knew how to threaten me psychologically by simply telling me if I told anyone they will think you
are a Bad Girl and no one will want you anymore.
So yes, it was a topic kept in the dark. When I was teaching preschoolers I always had conversations about
teaching manners to their children: if you see your child hesitant to hug a family member or a close friend
do not make them do it for manners sake, it's a clue they have reason not wanting to.
I was made to hug those family members for the sake of manners and I was scared but didn't know why, so I
couldn't tell Mom why. I never wanted to be the spotlight for anything after that happened, I didn't want to be
noticed at all and became quite shy.
Some children react differently, that's what I did in my case. It effected my teen years also. Made me withdraw
if a boy was interested in me. So you can figure out for yourselves how I feel about it - Educate the young children.

It's not just the judges. It's the whole system .

The Public Prosecution Service often demands lower sentences for the sexual abuse of minors than can be expected according to the sentencing guidelines. In most cases, the sentence subsequently imposed by the judge corresponds to that demand. In cases involving paid sex with minors, too, the sentence demand is often lower than stated in the guidelines. It is striking that in those cases, the judge usually imposes a much milder sentence than was demanded.

This is evident from research conducted by VU Amsterdam on behalf of the WODC. Two parliamentary motions from 2019 provided the impetus for the research.

Well, at least some states if not all here have state sex-offender registries so it's easy to check to see if any live nearby..
not counting, of course, those who lie about their addresses or don't update when they move.

From what I'd heard, that used to be the case.

Maybe one reason it changed is when it somehow became a thing to use the word 'child/children' as a synonym for 'minors.' Personally, I don't agree with it.

Depends on the age. A 17 year old and an 16 year old is okay here, but a 35 year old with a 16 year old is a pedo.

I fully agree. Even the dregs of the penal system have no use for them, and their code of justice brings a final solution.

I looked it up but see different outcomes. One who did it willingly was happy that he now wasn't constantly bothered by it, but a rapist got even worse.
