People Fall In Love With You Only For 2 Reasons | Carl Jung video

Unless I missed the point, the message I took away from it all is that love begins as nothing more than archetypal projections, doomed for failure more often than not. It didn't seem to recognize an ability to fall in love for the qualities we value in the human being who is the object of our affection, regardless of our self perceptions.

I totally agree
Love is a many splendored thing!

Love is a many-splendored thing
It's the April rose that only grows in the early spring
Love is nature's way of giving, a reason to be living
The golden crown that makes a man a king
Once on a high and windy hill
In the morning mist two lovers kissed and the world stood still
Then your fingers touched my silent heart and taught it how to sing
Yes, true love's a many-splendored thing
Once on a high and windy hill
In the morning mist two lovers kissed and the world stood still
Then your fingers touched my silent heart and taught it how to sing
Yes, true love's a many-splendored thing

Songwriters: Paul Francis Webster, Sammy Fain.

Interesting video. I couldn't find out much about who created the video, or how accurately Carl Jung's view were portrayed. But I think many points on "falling in love" and the conscious and unconscious processes are basically valid.

In my view, here's how it works:
1. you are attracted physically and emotionally to a person
2. you become intimate and fall in love
3.the "projection"(illusions) fade as you get to know the real person
4. you learn to love that person anyway, or else you part ways

I think it the kind of video you watch and think about and if you think you missed something watch it again. I watched it a few times and each time something hit me that I missed the first time. Around 7:41 in the video it's explained that Jung did not see this as failure.....

Half way through that video, I lost all my interest in love. Sheesh! Talk about sucking the life out of the most exciting emotion on the planet
Well, Psychology does try to analyze the working of the human mind in an objective manner.

...and turning it to a checklist of our inner short comings.
Not necessarily "short comings"....just think in terms of "common traits".

It's not rocket science LOL.

Another interesting perspective comes from "Secs Energy" de Ropp. Scientists explores and explains the multitude of ways animals and man reproduce.

Jung purists, might see this video as a watered-down gimmick as there’s no direct Jung quote saying "two reasons."
It’s more of a creative riff on his work. and possibly an opportunity for more you tube clicks or views.
It's not a video about Jung so much as about why people can be mistaken, as often in the case of love affairs and bad marriages, about the love that they are feeling initially for a person. You have to ask yourself, did I love the person or what they did for me in becoming more self aware.

If a person can realize the true nature of the attraction, the person can grow in an important way and break a cycle of picking the wrong partner.

The video takes Jung's premise and tries to put it in terms that are relevant and understandable. These are important points.

It's probably just a hit or miss Chaos.

The old marry my daughter or feel the pitchfork !

Leave town before it all comes out in the Arrest reports.

Get labeled LGBTQ! Whatever!

Why would young love actually fall in love anymore?
Is everyone Crazy here?

I suppose I'm not the guy to try to understand all this. I knew from the moment I first saw her, that girl (at the time) was to be my wife. No thought as to why... just... knew she was the one.
Worked out for 53 years, so, I guess it was meant to be.

This is what my man says about me. He claims that as soon as he saw me he knew I was going to be his wife. We’ve been together 35 years now. ā™„ļø
