Talk about a premeditated crime ! IMO this ranks right up there with first degree murder.

Yep, it could well have killer her and the baby. That may have been his intent.

Too bad his sentence doesn't include hot cooking oil, more and hotter than he put onto his victims...

This is reminiscent of the case of Patrick Kennedy's horrendous assault on an 8 year old girl. He was given the death penalty, even though the girl survived. I believe it was well deserved given the facts of the case.

Unfortunately (in my opinion) the Supreme Court reversed it, ruling that since the girl lived death for Kennedy was unconstitutional, Kennedy v. Louisiana

Reading the facts of that case, like the one you cite above are quite disturbing. Sure as hell hope neither of these guys ever see the light of day again.
