About Me! Friday of this week, I am going to have a lower back molar extracted, after 3 times it has been canceled due to virus situation. Going to be put under, because I don't like the idea of feeling the procedure. Otherwise rest of teeth are fine! About wife! She has had a hip pain for several months, and they are going to try physical therapy on Thursday. Following procedure, however Dr. Really thinks it will come down to surgery replacement! Thanks for listening, just had to get all that off my mind!

Have no fear. Teeth come out easier than you think.

Also, if your wife does end up having a hip replacement, ask where they plan to make the cut. From the front is best because the incision is smaller and cuts less muscle. It heals better. Then afterward try to get her some good physiotherapy. Supervised exercise is good. It prevents the patient from doing too much too soon while progressing you through progressive activities designed to strengthen the thigh and maximise joint movement. Can you afford live-in rehabilitation?

Thank you for that information Warrigal, however we have a great Ortho clinic where we live, and the Doctors there are all topnotch, so not real concerned about that.....From what I understand, hip replacement is a rather common surgery nowadays, Just getting tired of seeing her in pain.....Also, thank you all for your thoughts and concerns, very much appreciated.....So I'll try to give at least a thumbs up sometime Friday later in the day....Thank you all again for listening! this virus thing has affected just about everyone, one way or another.....Stay healthy all!

Having a tooth pulled seems like a painful procedure, but it isn't. I've had 3 & was awake. The area is totally numb & the tooth comes out easier than we think it will. In fact, I didn't even know when the tooth was out until the dentist said, "OK, we're done."
There is some pain when the anesthetic wears off, but (at least with me), aspirin was sufficient.
Remember to rinse with salt water several times a day - very important to prevent infection & encourage clotting. Salt is a natural antibiotic; that's why your dentist will recommend it.

Good Luck Both of you...

Like others I had all my wisdom teeth pulled at once because they were growing in impacted . Had to be sedated to have it done,..one minute I was in the chair and then what seemed like the next minute I was being woken in the recovery room.. Never felt a thing.

Had to be have a driver with me to take me otherwise they wouldn't have carried out the procedure . It's a good thing I did have someone with me , because when I came round from the sedation I felt perfectly fine, I felt I could drive home, but my family member wouldn't allow me... that's very fortunate because from the time I got into the car until the very next morning, I didn't remember another thing... I was in the land of Oz..or somewhere in la la land.. 😂..

Good luck Danny, my husband just had a tooth pulled recently, first one he ever had pulled in his life, he still has his wisdom teeth. They just gave him the injection to numb the area of the gum and it went pretty smoothly. They gave him a prescription for pain pills, oxycodone & acetaminophen, but didn't fill it. With the virus thing going on, we haven't gone out unless absolutely necessary, and 8 pills wasn't worth having delivered. He never complained about pain.

Hope your wife doesn't need surgery, but there are some folks here who've had it and are happy with the results. Wishing her the best!

Thank you SeaBreeze, As they say, this too shall pass....And I took the option to be put out for my procedure..little more expensive, but for me worth it........As for wife, I really think she is beyond physical therapy, but for insurance sake, that is protocol. Thank you for the kind words....Will update, as things go along.....Her physical therapy apt. is on Thursday. tooth pulled Friday....fun, fun...lol

I woke up while being sedated but that’s rare
.
I really shouldn’t have added this. The chance of anyone waking up during an anesthetic is slim to none. You should have no problems whatsoever.
It’s good that you took that option. Three family members have had total knee replacements with no issues whatsoever. It’s not the same as a hip. I think a hip might be less complex but I don’t know.
Try not to worry too much.

I agree! I had my hip replacement about 6 months ago, had it done from the front. Recovery was much faster than my husbands.

I hope you and your wife will recover well after all the procedures. ❣ ✨

I hope your tooth procedure goes well for you, Danny!

And hoping for some relief for your wife, also!

And yes, some of us have had important procedures delayed indefinitely, due to the sad situation.
I hope you can both get some help from being able to proceed.

And to get this tooth thing, behind you!
