Phone tracks you... but WOW

faraday cages are used in many places to block phone signals as well as it's main use as a protective shield against the electro magnetic radiation coming from the external environment.. or it prevents electro magnetic energy radiated from the external components from escaping the cage... one very good example of this is a Television studio...
If I wasn't "Villager #3" and actually had any information of note, I'd want a Faraday House. I wonder if Bill Gates has one of those?

well thank you kindly..I 've used it a few times on here.:)
It would be a nice avatar (rather than video, if you're not comfy) for say... a coffee klatch, if you decide to pop in one of these meetings. -- Which, btw, I don't mean to pressure you about so Ima shut up about it, hence forth. ;) You know you're welcome, like everyone, everyone is welcome. -- Geeze, I sound like a carnival barker.... "come one, come all...."

The only two acceptable ways I know to prevent your cellphone from being identified, monitored and tracked.

1. Using a faraday bag that hasn't been compromised.

2. Removing your cellphones batteries.

These are my phones that have interchangeable batteries. Once they are removed there is absolutely no possible way they can be identified, monitored and tracked.

My Son 's pick-up truck has (I don't know what they call it) but it records and "listens in" on all cab conversations.
I WOULD NEVER buy a vehicle that did that!
We had a guy try selling a package to put on our ambulances... He opened his lap top, it showed a map of every ambulance at a service he worked with. Showed location, speed, gear, if parked was the parking brake on, max speed, hard braking, hard turning, then...
He started opening camara views both from the cab and in the back with the Pt....

Unfortunately Orange County Florida Fire Rescue has the patient area real time video system in place after a sexual misconduct accusation. Even though the case had absolutely no merit and was dropped The OCFR command staff ordered the video system for the safety of the patient and attending paramedic. Too bad the OCFR command staff didn't think of that when overworked, underappreciated and more so underpaid OCFR paramedics were being attacked by inebriated, murderous sociopathic dope fiends. Shame.

lol..I'm going to remember that for the summer fete..get rich quick scheme..

I do know that your phone will track your where abouts and yes I can be turned off...
But I was looking for an address of a friend, I have been to his place only once, and pulled up the date in Google Maps on my phone.
But what I discovered was it also listed modes of travel... in looking It shows that I was riding a motorcycle... looked up other dates and It shows me in a boat during a Kayaking trip... WTH....
I hope you enjoyed yourself at least.

I would never believe your phone is listening even when you're not using it Last night we were watching TV and an ad for Disney World came on and we were talking about how we as adults would have no interest in going to Disney. 5 minutes later an ad for Disney World pops up on her phone. This has happened so many times to us it can't be a coincidence.

I recently subscribed to a Virtual Private Network because I wanted to watch a series on Australian TV.

I have received an email from this VPN provider explaining how companies use software to decide on the prices to quote you for goods or services. They take into account your shopping habits, where you live and even the devices that you use to access the internet.
You can bet your bottom dollar on this. Whenever I research something, say cars, the next day there are all these ads creeping on my screening for cars. Amazon, I think, is terrible for this. You research something and then you are flooded with ads for much the same thing. It's a sneaky, crooked "dog eat dog" world when it comes to selling something. As always, BUYER BEWARE.

In the end I blame the buyers of these instruments. Your dollar/pound/pesos/Europ, etc. is pretty powerful. People need to say STOP to all this spying that is going on. Pretty soon you wouldn't be able to go to the toilet and have a pee without Google/the police/government knowing when you went, where you went and how long did you stay in the toilet. Is this the kind of sheepish life people want? I think they do because I seldom see anyone complaining; least of all all those people carrying around their phones with them all day and sleeping all night with them.

From watching True Crime stories, tracking cell phones is how many murderers were convicted. Tracking proves suspects were lying about where they've been when they try to establish alibis.
I've come to believe whatever invasion of privacy it means, it's worth it.
I agree. Give free cellphones to all the usual suspects when they get out of jail!

One of my favorite Dateline's had Keith Morrison viewing some Walmart camera footage along with the perpetrator.
The film showed the murderer walking into Walmart wearing shorts in the winter, so the clerk would be sure to remember him, buying a "burner phone," a shovel, some rope, plastic sheeting, and a bag of lime. Keith Morison says to him, "It's like a wife killing kit, isn't it?"

I don't have a cell phone at all, but I do a great deal of blabbing on this site. Just let me say, "I broke my leg in two places" like I do every few days, and an hour or two later I'll get a call from some company that wants to send me a knee brace and bill Medicare for it.

Even when your smartphone is off and even when you no longer have cell service your phone transmits your phones SID number to the nearest tower. What do you think happens when you no longer have cell service and you can still dial 9-1-1, just that alone should tell you something. On another note when I am on a computer and sometimes even when I click "Do not track" on the the cookie advisory icon the former site I was on still inserts their tracking app and you see the former sites ads on the next site you visit. Although some people think it's extremely time consuming overkill one should always clear their browser cache which should be set "for all time" after exiting every site.

Totally agree and I do that too.

I used to have a tracfone just for emergencies at first, then when it became outdated and they were encouraging me to get an updated version, I decided to get my first Android phone, which I still use, I think it's 4G.

I use a Simply Walking app to measure distance of my walks when desired, the good thing is it works out in remote areas with no cell service and it works using satellites. I really like this feature, it shows the path you take with real images of trees, bushes, buildings, etc. In the wilderness, it does not show detail but when you get back to town or home, it shows detail.

If I was planning to rob a bank or kill someone, I would leave my phone home. :p But I don't care much about the feature. If there was a horrible situation where I went for a hike and never returned, perhaps my husband and the authorities could track where I am and recover my body or save me from a psycho abuser.

I also use apps for a couple of local public radio stations, and they may need to know a general location, not sure about that. Anyhoo, I'm not paranoid, there are cameras and microphones everywhere, this isn't the '50s or '60s anymore, with the conveniences of technological progress comes some concessions.
