Place is starting to look like a third world Slum

My block of units, 30 in all, 25 of them occupied by new immigrants.
Hanging washing from the balconies when clothes lines are supplied, Raw meat being hung to dry on said balconies, spitting and nose clearing onto the ground, rubbish/cigarette butts throw onto the ground, Incorrect disposal into recycling bins, unwrapped raw meat being placed in rubbish bins.
If I could I would move away from this disrespectful rabble

Unfortunately plenty of people of all sorts who litter etc.

If they are new immigrants putting rubbish in wrong bin, maybe they don't understand the system or have trouble reading English.

I can understand washing being hung on balconies rather than on shared clothes lines, particularly if one has to get washing from upstairs flat to ground level.

The rubbish and spitting would bother me - hanging washing on balconies wouldn't.

All residents are given pamphlets regarding rubbish disposal, recycling.
I personally have given every resident these pamphlets and explained the correct procedures.
Units rules stipulate no washing to be hung on balconies.

Ok, so they are breaking the rule about hanging washing on balconies- i can understand why they do it though and it still isn't something that would bother me.

Good that you are handing out pamphlets and hopefully they have visual aids as well as writing.
I think putting in wrong bin is still likely to be mistake or misunderstanding of tenants though.

That would make me uncomfortable. Are there health laws there? Is there a property manager who you can contact and let them know that the raw meat could cause health issues and that it might be reported to the health authorities? Just an idea.

Is there absolutely no place that you could move to that is affordable? I could not live like this.
Not in this rental catastrophe that is occurring.
I am currently paying $1420 a month.
The average rental for a 1 bedroom unit is $1935/month.
Competition is fierce with 30 to 40 or more people turning up for homes open viewings.

Unless I see the person putting the meat in the bin nothing can be done.
Someone is doing it but I do not know who.
I am away for work from 4am to 4pm 5 days a week.

Are they paying out-of-pocket $1,420 or is all/part being subsidized by sanctuary city govt?
Is there a limit on how many can reside in a unit ?

It seems that most developed nations around the world are experiencing a housing crisis. WTF?
Two reasons here in Australia.
Decades of Government inaction in building social housing
Migration is ridiculously high. Net permanent resident arrivals are above 200,000 a year. Without enough housing to begin with, it allows landlords to fleece renters.

as some countries become more multiculturally focused for whatever reasons - following rules of the mother country and being harmonious neighbours becomes a greater challenge. - I remember living in the slums of Liverpool UK - everyone was tidy and polite and often helpful and spoke the same language - the times they are a changing and its worrying the incoming president of the Usa too??

If you notice lots of screens off the windows,
windows open and guys walking around the
parking lot talking on the phone get ready
for bed bug bites.

Yep, its Bugs and in the mattress too.
Sure, those lil round sores won't kill ya!
Those marks in your skin will itch real bad
but fade away in a few years.

It's ok, they are driving you out for more room.

I favour the cold climate northern hemisphere - less bugs but more flu? maybe somewhere mid- hemisphere would be better? are there any geo - scientists on board who can give us the healthiest pitch on the planet for health living - must be denmark or finland round about? -Greenland??

You don't mention rats but I presume they are part of the problem. This is an environmental health problem and should be addressed by the council (or equivalent).
There is not a rat problem here. It is a problem new arrivals not taking on the ways of their adopted country.
I have spoken to several of them in a civil manner on how things need to be done.
They have laughed at me.

This is Australia and these people are not refugees.
These are people who have paid their own way to have a better life in Australia.
But they are treating the Australian way of life with total disrespect.

When I was growing up in the rural country, we had a neighbor a couple of miles away
that kept his 22 revolver in the Livingroom to shoot rats with birdshot. I suspect that
they ate them too. A rodent is a rodent!

What I see is many are working very hard reroofing / Landscaping and walking several blocks to work each day.
Sure many are well educated and raising families and living in the upscale homes in medium sized Americas cities.
My thoughts are they are hard at working to live a decent life. But there are some that, well they are just plain Anti.

You may snatch a Frog off a Lilly Pad but you can't teach him to jump.

The clothes on balcony not so much but proper trash and recycling is frustrating with everyone. I had a house where immigrant neighbors burned their trash-every thing including plastics. They used their 'fire pit' to cover their pot smoking.

Building or property manager should've given them an orientation other than handing them something written to sgin.

Ya mean like European immigrants did when they first arrived? Maybe it's just a people thing.
