Anyone here playing the lotto?

The jackpots for the Mega Millions and Power Ball are sky high!

I've bought more than a few tickets, won a little, very little.
But, you can't win if you don't play.

I would say that's a weakness of mine. Oh well.
 

We buy an occasional Lotto Max ticket, but we're by no means regulars at it.

never won big, just piddley amounts like $1, $20, and free plays.

I agree with your philosophy that you can't win if you don't play.
 
I buy a Powerball or Mega Million occasionally....especially when it gets this high. However, the odds are so ridiculously high that I figure I'm just making a $2 "donation". When I go to the store, or gas station, I usually buy a $1 state lottery ticket....it's odds are a fraction of the big money tickets....and, our state gives most of the money to the schools....helps keep property taxes reasonable.
 
The best lottery win story I have heard happened nt too far from me in a neighboring suburb. A woman went into a gas station to buy a pack of gum and something else I don't recall. Anyway, she wanted to write a check for $5, which was the minimum size check they would accept. She decided to get a lottery ticket to make it a $5 purchase. She won something along the lines of $40 million, back when that was a big win. This was just an off-the-cuff one time thing, since she didn't make it a habit of buying lottery tickets.

We never play because my hubby`s uncle won 30 million years ago,so we always figured lightning would never strike twice in the same family lol.

However,a friend of ours won 25K just the other night. I saw on the local scanner page that someone had gotten 5 out of 5 numbers on a ticket purchased at a local market,but didn`t find out til the next day that it was Bill. So he hit the jackpot twice this month-he just found out he`s gonna be a grandpa for the first time this summer:love:
 
we think about it if big week but usually forget to buy them .......
always bought scratchers over many years i figured we won enough to be about even...... my mom and step dad bought lotto every week for decades but think any winnings were below they breaking even.......
 
I played the Mega Millions last Friday but not this Tuesday. I don't know if anyone hit the Mega Millions last night but if they didn't I may
play the Mega Millions again on Friday night.

I rarely play the lottery but the Mega Millions has a lot at stake.
 
Just heard on the news that there was one, Billion dollar winner in Michigan.

I wish them luck, I do not think it is as "easy-street" as many do.

I read that this morning too. His phone will be ringing off the hook soon, imo.

I'd be fine w/just a few million...all of it , is just too much for anyone.
 
I've always thought it would be better to spread the wealth over several winners, than one Billion dollar winner.
