Please... never forget.

Only by luck, I was not scheduled to fly on that day. Normally, I flew on Tuesdays and normally my flight would have been Washington, D.C. to the west coast, either LAX or SFO. My friend, Jason Dahl, was the Captain on Flight 93, which went down in PA. He gave me additional training on the B-757 and B-767. Unbelievably, his wife Sandy died some 11 years later in her sleep brought on by an accidental overdose of pills and alcohol.

Jason was just a really great person who was all about sharing his knowledge with the pilots that worked for United. It must have been a very scary event that day and I have to believe that Jason was also a hero on that day by doing what he could to keep the airplane in the air.

There were a lot of heroes on that day, including the first responders, the occupants of the Towers and on the airplanes and just too many to mention.

Sadly, people will forget. Not the present generation but future ones. I once thought that no one would ever forget "Dec. 7th, the day of infamy". Today many folks have no idea, when Dec. 7th rolls around, what it means and couldn't find Pearl Harbor on a map if it was circled.

History books remember these events but people, not so much.

That horrible day touched Australians hearts as well , I don’t believe as long as we live we will ever forget the horror of that day ...ever

Agree completely.

I think more people do remember than don’t. The dates may not be honored as they should be, however, I know the dates that we (us seniors) remember and show our respect for, are still in the history books. I have a problem remembering a few dates myself, such as: VE, VJ and the date, not the year for WW II, which ended in 1945.

Let us also not forget all the members of the US armed forces, our allies, their families, and innocents on the ground (known as "collateral damage") whose lives, limbs and peace of mind have been shredded in the many years of war that have followed that terrible day.

i always remember the day ' and so should everybody 'totally horrific like dream ……..poor souls rest in peace !

I always know it's coming before it gets here. I stay home on 9/11 ever since that year. I remember that day and think of what we've done because of 9/11...good and bad. With my parents it was the Great Depression and WWII that made the most impression on their lives. With me...JFK assassination, Viet Nam war, 9/11 and the mess we're in the last couple of years.
