Pluto stays in each sign for about 20 years. Many astrologers see these as "generations, like those born with Pluto in Virgo ( 1956 to 1972 ). The generation of Pluto in Aquarius is upon us. If we can stop climate change from becoming to bad within the span of influence will come an even more advanced way of communicating our ideas all around the world.

You can expect shocking events that change everything on a massive scale. It could be nuclear weapons, or that the US loses it's reserve currency status. Expect the unexpected as they would say. Most of the advancements will be to assist mankind in becoming more brotherly and sisterly when treating each other. Probably we will see the habit of competing for resources change to cooperating with others to supply the necessary goods and services.

Another massive change that will occur in the next 20 years is how people see there environment. Up till now we have used our environment for growth. In fact we have had a strange idea, that there was an endless supply of the things we have used from nature. That is coming to an end. There is not an endless supply of what nature provides. Most all things will be depleted, with the view of infinite growth. We are becoming aware of how the earth can only supply a sufficient amount of goods for the amount of people there are on the planet.

Through these next 20 years Aquarius will begin to give us knowledge of what nature is, it's cycles, how it works together, what is good for us, what we don't need and hurts us, and we will pair down our material needs. We will become interested in our fellow human beings as brothers and sisters that we are related to, and we are intimately connected in our humanity, and deserve liberty, not conscription. As the climate continues to be a big problem, we will learn to adapt, and change our main economies from nationalism, and a protectionist framework, to an open, trading, cooperative society.

It will get worse, might even come to a huge population loss in the near future, but those who are left will build the new world for the next 250 year cycle. :)

I only hope that it will not be the "new world", what is described by the WEF as the "Great Reset" or the "Agenda 2030" with it's "Sustainable Development Goals". This will mean private jets, sport's cars and Kobe beef for the super rich, while the masses are living caged in 15 minute cities and eating insects. To hell with the people who promote this.

Paco, I’m going to print and save this. In 20 years I will see how good it was. If you are right I will buy you a nice lunch, and listen more closely when your speak. :)

How exactly is the position of Pluto in its orbit in relation to the sun supposed to be affecting events on Earth?

It doesn’t. There is no correlation whatsoever, except in the minds of those who seek patterns that don’t exist.

World upheavals happen all the time, whether due to wars, revolutions, economic crises, natural disasters, or human-made disasters. Societal changes happen alongside these events as well, which may also be considered as a major upheaval. All of this occurs regardless of where Pluto is in its orbit. In fact, upheavals happen in spite of Pluto’s position or how it appears in the sky from Earth’s view point.

Astrology seems to me like a belief system built on identifying patterns that aren't really there, often by cherry-picking world events to fit its narrative, while ignoring the countless events that contradict. It's largely based on symbolic skewed associations rather than evidence or facts.

World War I for example. The devastation of the war, followed by the pandemic and widespread starvation, occurred while Pluto was in Cancer, a sign 'associated' with home, family, and emotional security. Try telling that to the Jews or other suffering populations at the time. It simply doesn’t hold up, and never will.

I too can understand how this can happen. The world has basically followed the 'More is better" bias so the wealthy are very likely going to rule the world ( for awhile ), but hopefully they will come to their senses and begin to cooperate with the rest of the world. I am not holding my breath on this, and think there is a good possibility that this scenario will happen. It would be tragic if so. :(

Easy. Pluto negative influence on Cancer. Pluto=dark, distant, cold, unfeeling.

Pluto in Aquarius is going to be tough for the generation born between 1945-1964 because we are the Pluto in Leo generation. Enduring Pluto in Aquarius will be like living on another planet for us. Not pleasant. We're wired differently.
That is an excellent observation. It is a huge dynamic that the "Leo's" have a very different "wiring". We are proud of what we have accomplished. Rock and Roll, women's liberation, technology that made entertainment our god, and the ego centric nature of the baby boomers choices. Aquarius is interested in humanity at large, not fulfilling personal desires.

Pluto was the ancient Roman god of the dead, wealth, and agriculture. Hades was the ancient Greek god of the Underworld, and when the Romans conquered Greece and absorbed most of their mythology, the name Pluto replaced Hades as well as Dis Pater, the original Roman god of mineral wealth and agricultural fertility.

Have you heard of the butterfly effect? I will see what my browser says about it...:)

The concept of the butterfly effect encompasses several phenomena. The two kinds of butterfly effects, including the sensitive dependence on initial conditions,[3] and the ability of a tiny perturbation to create an organized circulation at large distances,[1] are not exactly the same. Butterfly effect - Wikipedia

Basically it is saying that everything in our universe is working in a very complex manner and the smallest changes in something create a rippling effect on everything.

It seems then that astrology has a huge ability to be flexible in its 'interpretations'. Using it in any way one wants to put a point across. Which is likely to contradict many interpretations of others who follow astrology.

Seems to me that Astrology’s flexibility to explain both good and bad outcomes with symbolic interpretations is one of the reasons it lacks consistency or predictability.

To me, this flexibility of astrology, in that it can explain both good and bad outcomes using the same or similar symbolic interpretations is one of the main reason why none of it holds up.

Cancer in the BirthChart

Pluto was in Cancer between 1669 to 1693 and 1914 to 1939. Period that suggests major changes in emotional and family issues, in private relationships and in the patriotic game.

It’s interesting how the concept of generation we have used all through the 20th century has some parallels with Pluto’s positionings. People born in generations where Pluto has already reached a different sign could have very distinct challenges, inner possibilities, concepts of power and ways to deal with societal changes and transitions compared to others.
Latest periods of Pluto in Cancer: 1669 to 1693 | 1914 to 1939
Indicates a potential for major transformations in emotional, family, close relationships and patriotism matters.
On a broader level, these times inspire deep turmoil and brushes with the past. These periods inspire significant transformations in matters of identity and tradition in both countries or people. Usually, patriotism is somehow in the spotlight and the State has great power while showing a protective side, like a mother watching over her people, albeit often austere. Maternity also tends to take center stage, as does the role of women in society, which usually goes through essential transformations.
