I have ask, 'Has anyone here got into the 'Pokemon Go' craze?' I will admit I had been watching all the hype wondering, what is the obsessive interest about? I found a site that gave me a humorous synopsis of the game. I can't believe that it has swept the massive amount of players it has. In my opinion, there is no disbelief on my part. I have said that most people are mindless followers, if you don't believe me look at our candidates for President! Back to the game, I have never been a game player, did play solitaire, tetris, pipe dream & currently play an occasional game of Freecell & Mahjong, that's it.
But this game is unbelievable in the interest it has generated. My wife pointed out after I explained the game to her that at least it's got people out walking around. There has been several incidents of car wrecks, pedestrian hits, I'm sure many players have bumped into unforgiving obstacles such as trees & posts. There is also a positive side, people discovering abandoned animals, dead bodies,,,etc. But to me it's a stupid waste of a mind so the ad goes. It amazes me how enamored a whole population of robots are running to locations to 'capture; their quest.
Was reading an article about the advertisers lining up to buy spots on the game, it has generated sales that otherwise would go unnoticed except that it's tied to the game. There's that little devil, oh by the way I'll have one of those donuts. I can only shake my head in disbelief. It reminds me of the Italian parable of the farmer who was failing with his farm, so he went to a fortune teller to help him. The teller handed him a box with the instructions to go out on his farm and place the box at different locations for a few days each. Soon it became apparent he was fixing problems with his irrigation, fences & other things about his farm, the box got him out on the farm & his natural skills improved his processes making him a successful farmer in the end. Maybe 'P Go' will make us better world citizens.
