According to a school vote I would have been dead before 1984... I strive to continue to make them wrong.According to the ouija board my best friend and I consulted about the age of our deaths back in 1966, I will die next year. I'm very afraid and not ready at all for this so it will be difficult if it does happen. Unless God pulls me out of the mess somehow. I hope so.![]()
I am a non-practicing Catholic and have always wondered about the reality of demon possession...so I avoided watching the Exorcist for years and when I finally did I found it interesting and not as frightening as some of Steven King's movies..the Fog was pretty scarry to me...Movies tend to exaggerate, tho i had to talk my then boyfriend's roommate down from a 3 night anxiety attack after the 3 of us saw the Exorcist. A Catholic, he took it very seriously.
But what happened to my sister and in a house i moved into after someone fooled around with one of those boards in it were a bit more real.
I respect but don't understand how/why anyone doesn't believe in life after life..but if you are right, we will never know, will we...I don't believe in an afterlife, but let's face it, when the time comes, it comes. I'm not worried about it. It depends on my health, and my DNA.
My maternal grandfather put it this way, "Farm as though you're going to live for ever, live as though you're going to die tomorrow"!According to a school vote I would have been dead before 1984... I strive to continue to make them wrong.
Remember... its how much life you live... not the time you survive.
97 is not all it’s cracked up to beI've given myself 23 years. I've planned financially for it. Why 23 years? 97 is the age my mother (not birth mother) died at and the age I'll be if I live 23 more years.
Hey Aneeda...with the way things are going in this world, I don't think I'd want to live much longer than that.97 is not all it’s cracked up to be![]()
I don’t want to live that long. My mother will be 97 in February and she wants to live to be a hundred.Hey Aneeda...with the way things are going in this world, I don't think I'd want to live much longer than that.![]()
I'm still not decided on the reality of 'demon possession', tho i've had experiences that suggest evil disembodied identities are real. But he hadn't slept well, despite leaving his lamp on, in 2 nights and the 3rd was fast approaching.I am a non-practicing Catholic and have always wondered about the reality of demon possession...so I avoided watching the Exorcist for years and when I finally did I found it interesting and not as frightening as some of Steven King's movies..the Fog was pretty scarry to me...![]()
You say that although I'm reminded of an uncle, the last of mine left, who used to state he didn't want to live past the age of sixty, and he's now ninety six and counting, still got his marbles, and we're all delighted he's with us!97 is not all it’s cracked up to be![]()
Could you put me on ignore-I’d really appreciate it if you would. You say that although I'm reminded of an uncle, the last of mine left, who used to state he didn't want to live past the age of sixty, and he's now ninety six and counting, still got his marbles, and we're all delighted he's with us!![]()
Everyone has different experiences. Suspect a poll about pleasant and unpleasant extremely senior people would reveal a wide variety between the "They're too mean to die" and the "Every extra day with them is a joy" types with all the gradations in between. You say that although I'm reminded of an uncle, the last of mine left, who used to state he didn't want to live past the age of sixty, and he's now ninety six and counting, still got his marbles, and we're all delighted he's with us!![]()
I can ignore you successfully without doing something I've never chosen to do before, (if memory serves me right), so consider it done!Could you put me on ignore-I’d really appreciate it if you would.
What really bugs me..irritates me..pisses me off is doctors giving a date for when someone will die. That happened to my aunt when she had pancreatic cancer. The doctor told her she had 3 months and sure enough, she died in 3 months. Now, I understand doctors need to give some timelines when asked but I hope and wish all would also give stats of people living beyond the 'expected' I believe the mental attitudes and expectations have a tremendous bearing on disease progression.I wanted to be optimistic about it, I guess, so I said 10-15. I'm being really hopeful there, though. My doctor did not think that but some others with my condition have lived that much longer after diagnosis.
Curious..what kind of school has a vote on when someone will die????According to a school vote I would have been dead before 1984... I strive to continue to make them wrong.
