Possible disruptions but not full blown catastrophe

i've mentioned CMEs in other post or two months ago. So posting this article (DD and i verified the info with Space.com) as an FYI that various Tech could be effected this. And for a change it won't be our service providers' fault. Please read the article before 1) panicking ;) or 2) calling me an alarmist. This was a level 2 (of a 5 level scale with 5 the worst) when first spotted, now is a 3. DD informed me after checking with Space.com that two more ejections have followed and may amp up the threat level more. They won't know until the new ones can be measured by NOAA satellites.

On the upside, we may be able to see Aurora's at latitudes that don't usually get them due to the effect on our magnetic field. We've got cloud cover predicted remainder of week--so even if they come this far south we may not see, OR maybe the clouds will be just diffuse enough to make for even more interesting view.

When in Navy comms, I used to get reports on these
happenings and had to consolidate and put together
reports for the big brass in Wash d.c., it was quite
unusual at times....
And interesting sometimes i would think. We have so many more ways to track these things now that general public is aware of...but i always try to verify info with respected agencies like Space.com, NOAA or NASA.

I was going to post about this. The news thread I get almost always have an article about CMEs and the disruptions they might cause. But the article I read today stated that we could have power grid issues tomorrow, the 18th. I'm seeing a couple of more articles about it but I what I read was from Space.com (on Google News) . It's nice of you to post a heads up...not alarmist at all.
