Better know for his country music career, Don Williams was a founding member of the American folk music group - The Pozo Seco Singers who launched in 1965. ( Inspired by an oil field term denoting a dead well - Pozo Seco)
The group disbanded in 1970 and Don Williams began his solo career in 1971.
1978 saw him win the Country Music Association Award for Male Vocalist of the Year.
In 1979 he won the Academy of Country Music Single record of the Year with Tulsa Time.
