There were 2 groups touring in the doo wop concerts in the 70's & 80's, called the Satins. The Five Satins with original lead singer Fred Parris. He is the one who sang lead on In the Still of the Night. Bill Baker's Satins, featured the lead singer on The Five Satins 2nd most famous song, To the Aisle. While Fred Parris was in the army, his record company brought in a new lead singer, Bill Baker, to sing lead for a while. That was when To the Aisle was recorded. I got to see both groups in concert, that way I got to hear the original lead singer on both songs.
Hubby was watching some podcaster reviewing his 1st time ever hearing that song and I was in hysterics listening to him
Podcaster - "What??? What the heck is "Love me like a rock" mean? Who loves a rock?" Then he quickly gave the song
thumbs down and shut it off. I could not stop laughing for quite awhile.
