Post Thanksgiving ........

The 'post Thanksgiving surge' that was feared has not yet been detected , as per the "experts" on radio this morning.

Some are saying this is due to, people practicing a safer approach to the holiday , others saying it indicates that the virus is beginning to 'wind-down' ?

Now they are saying Christmas will be the next big test, as far as a "super-spreader" event ?

What ever the reason, lets hope we pass that crucial test as well.

I don't believe it's winding down. Cases are on the rise in PA since Thanksgiving. I can only imagine how much more they'll spike through Christmas. As long as people aren't vaccinated, it will continue to rise.

We're definitely seeing one here in our county. We've got at least double and possibly triple the weekly infection rate we saw just before Thanksgiving. The timing is just about right.

The numbers in Missouri are climbing substantially in the past couple of days.....Thanksgiving surge?? I suspect the numbers in mid January will be even worse when the Christmas numbers start rolling in. I expect that we will have to live with this situation until well into next Summer/Fall, by which time the vaccines will begin to reverse the numbers....IF enough people get vaccinated.

My zip code had 10 new cases yesterday. I'm hoping it was just caused by larger number of tests but who knows.

Odd, the families that I know personally did thanksgiving as they always have ??

Matter of fact, I had two t/day dinners delivered ! One complete ham dinner & Pecan pie, and one complete turkey dinner & Pumpkin pie............Yipee !

So ! Friday supper was just as delicious as Thursday !

We travel in different circles, most of the families I know did not do what they always have. Some had brief socially distanced dinners outdoors with much fewer participants but many had them for only their household members. I might know some families that did have a normal thanksgiving but it would only be one to three.

I'm sure that a large percentage of families that did what would normally do will not be infected as a result of their gathering. However some families have already reported they have been infected and even those who weren't affected by their Thanksgiving gathering may be affected by someone else's.
