Sorry, @OneEyedDiva This is one time we don't seem to be in agreement! My heart and soul crave harmony! They are good but not to my taste! I am posting one that deeply touched me! It's different enough to fit in this group! One of the best bands ever and at the top of the list of my favorites (since 1970) is Mandrill. The nucleus of the group is the Wilson Brothers who were born in Panama but grew up in NY. The group features Ric Wilson, MD (cardiology) on sax and percussions. Their songs encompass a few genres, including Funk and Rock. But the first here is simply exotic. The second is Latin. Unfortunately, Lou Wilson who introduced the band passed away 10 years ago. I had the pleasure of seeing them in concert at a small venue decades ago and it's an experience I'll never forget.

Would this be a suitable compromise?@OneEyedDiva I think I ended up in the wrong thread. You are looking for exotic and different while I am looking for harmony and songs that touch the soul!![]()
Whatever is considered "World Music" is fine OS. That encompasses a whole lot of music and styles. Re: Mandrill...we can't be in agreement about everything! That would be just downright spooky.@OneEyedDiva I think I ended up in the wrong thread. You are looking for exotic and different while I am looking for harmony and songs that touch the soul!![]()
Okay...this is technically Jazz, not World. Here's the thread for Jazz music. From the fifties. Dave Brubeck!
Thanks,@OneEyedDiva I didn't know that there was a group for Jazz. I no longer like jazz, so I wish I could remove it. Just something I got into in my foolish youth and wanted to share!Okay...this is technically Jazz, not World. Here's the thread for Jazz music.

I think it counts Dustbunny; it's kind of a fusion of World and Rock I think.I hope this counts for this thread. If not I can delete. Yuve Yuve Yu - The Hu
This is a Mongolian Folk Metal band with traditional Mongolian instruments. May not be for all, but I have enjoyed them.
There is English subtitles at the bottom. It is best to view with the widescreen choice, if you care to view/listen the video.
