Fun fact: Tony Orlando’s first two hits featured assorted back ground singers. It was these two songs, Candida and Knock Three Times, that drove him to start touring. At that point he needed to choose two singers to be Dawn. After viewing several demo tapes he chose the above two ladies - Telma Hopkins and Joyce Wilson. They toured with him doing the above song as well as the first two songs, and many others of course.

Orlando was shaken badly by the suicide death of his good friend Freddy Prinz. He was following the same path as Prinz, but eventually He decided that was too risky. He found strength in Christian beliefs and turned his life around, continuing to perform but avoiding the dangerous temptations of being rich and famous that contributed to Prinz’s death. His last performance was not that long ago in 2024.
