Clips from the Disney movie "Bon Voyage!", featuring the SS United States, which sat decaying at a pier in Philadelphia for decades before being towed down to Destin, FL, to be eventually sunk as an artificial reef.

That's a much better fate than being scrapped, but the melodrama in ocean liner forums over the past few months has been a bit over the top, even for me. People had years to save her, and unfortunately things just didn't work out, but then everyone panicked at the last minute. And, like I said, it's not like she's being scrapped. A museum is even being built for her in Destin, I believe.

But watching this short montage almost brings tears to my eyes. What a beautiful ship!

I've added this film to my watch list.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - The Danish National Symphony Orchestra (Live)

Another great song worth hearing again...

Mike & The Mechanics - The Living Years

I saw the Boston Pops Orchestra play the song, “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” and this orchestra was much better, IMO. That was the best whistler I ever saw live. I saw Jackson Browne in concert and his whistler wasn’t as good, but close.

I also saw Mike and The Mechanics. I went to listen to them sing the song, “In the Living Years.” They sang a few songs in at the beginning and again their next to last song of the concert because a lot of people were yelling for them to sing it again.

I have seen Mike & the mechanics several times. They played at a theatre in a town near me, and X and I went to see them there, very small provincial theatre so we were up close... and then I saw them in Spain.... ...fantastic..I love Living years..I could listen to that over and over ..and so could the audience

We usually see the concerts at the same place. It’s one of the best venues on the east coast for watching a concert.
It’s good that you were close, but we try to go 11 rows back or row ‘K’. If I get closer, I get a stiff neck. We are members, which allows us first dibs on getting tickets before they sell to the public.

I guess I'm easily amused... I first saw this one about 5 years ago and laughed uncontrollably every single time. When I saw this thread, I looked it up again. Same reaction as back then. :ROFLMAO: I see it's had 71 million views. He thought Daddy was sad. 😁

My favorite clip from my favorite silly 80s movie, Better Off Dead. The spoof of Frankenstein never fails to make me laugh.
