Prayers to Mexico and Texas

beloved friend who will always be with us in spiri

I just watched some reports on the computer and checked the NOAA site. This is watching history in the making, the worst hurricane since they started recording them. But yeah I have to turn it off for awhile now. There aren't words.

The only response is evacuation but that isn't easy. Evacuation centres are full and people are waiting in their hotels for a chance to escape the cyclone.

Sorry Warrigal, you just used the wrong term describing our HURRICANE as a CYCLONE.

[h=1]What is the difference between a hurricane, a cyclone, and a typhoon?[/h] [h=2]The only difference between a hurricane, a cyclone, and a typhoon is the location where the storm occurs.[/h]
Hurricanes, cyclones, and typhoons are all the same weather phenomenon; we just use different names for these storms in different places. In the Atlantic and Northeast Pacific, the term “hurricane” is used. The same type of disturbance in the Northwest Pacific is called a “typhoon” and “cyclones” occur in the South Pacific and Indian Ocean.

Today's paper showed two days here of expected cloudiness, unusual, with some chance of rain. We are 200 miles +/- north of the Gulf of Mexico. imp

A high school friend of mine is there doing a sea turtle rescue mission. She is right in the hurricane`s predicted path. They are staying right on the beach,of course, as they release the baby turtles every night at midnight and collect any new eggs they find. She doesn`t seem too worried-someone came and taped their windows and they have plenty of food and water but it doesn`t really sound like enough to me....don`t they always board up the windows here??

I always hope that people caught in these situations
get out safely, unfortunately some don't.
My prayers are that the warnings are heeded.

Mike.

I hope they can stay safe from the hurricane cyclone Warrigal, hoping our friends like Ina in Houston don't have very much damage from the storm.

It’s been quite a year for tropical cyclones globally. After several years in a row with few intense hurricanes and typhoons, 2015 has seen a remarkable turnaround. The latest is Patricia, now poised to strike Mexico near Manzanillo later today, and it is about as intense as they come.
