Prince Andrew to give up all honours and titles

Will he lose all his bodyguards, will he be forced to shop at Tescos, will people spit at him, will the late Queen's corgies bite him, will he have to hand back all his 'Royal' wealth, will he admit "Well, OK, I did tell a few fibs.....'
Questions, questions, questions.

Tish: I feel they might be the next to go. I was reading an article with photos of Meghan Markle and Prince Andrew in swimming attire on a boat. She was known as a "Boat Girl", this was long before she hunted down Harry.
We might find out more details about this when Tom Bower's newest book comes out around January 2026...cannot wait to read it!
It will be the sequel of his book "Revenge".

If I remember correctly, Andrew was the Queen's favourite child, so it must have been painful for her to have to strip him of his titles when she did.

Back when I was a motorcycle courier working in and around London in the 80's. I used to pick up stuff from Sarah Ferguson to send to her boss in Switzerland. She worked from a very small attic office in Central London, and did the due diligence of various works of art, which were then published in large and very expensive glossy books of what was coming up for auction in different places around the world.

I found her very down to earth and friendly, in contrast to the vast majority of the Sloane Rangers, who seemed to think that I was something they'd just stepped in, and I was sorry to see her go when she got moved into Buckingham Palace, the day after the last pickup I did from her.

Is he giving up his "royal income", whatever that may be?

I don't think he has a Royal Income. From what I've read, the only public money he receives is his military pension, around £20,000 a year. The King stopped his allowance, which I believe isn't public money either, but come from the King’s own private finances. Prince Andrew was receiving £1 million per year from the King, but not anymore.

He does have his own investments, and a large undisclosed sum from Queen Elizabeth prior to her death. I think I remember it being mentioned that he received nothing from the Queen in her will, but the Queen's will was never made public.

Questions, questions, questions.

Sounds like this could be the opening of a particular 70s TV show.

"In our last episode, Chester told Jesica..."

"Confused, you won't be, after this episode of, SOAP"

Or as I used to quote the show: "Confused, you will be..."

Omg I can't wrap my head around all the Royals and associated dealings. Maybe I need another cuppa.

"Duke and Duchess of delusion and deception"...who are they and why are they referred to like that? I thought the British loved their Royal Family.

"Randy Andy"...must be Prince Andrew, the subject of this thread.

Is Prince Harry OK?

How about Prince William(Prince of Wales), is he liked and respected?

well of course we're a clever nation on the whole.. and the Duke and Duchess of Pork... have only been able to fool some of the people some of the time.. ( andrew & fergie)... but the jig is up... finally..

Harry ?.. Harry who ? ..Styles ? Truman?... Potter?

The nation , as a generality Love Prince William and his beautiful wife Catherine.... ...for now !...

As I recall...
The once 'Poster boy' of the media

Randy Andy (Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson) : r/agedlikemilk

has suffered from the consequences of the passing of time.

The media came up with the title "Randy Andy" taking advantage of the young Prince having an eye for the ladies and publicising if not promoting his virility.

As a Royal Navy helicopter pilot and instructor and as the captain of a warship, during the Falklands War he flew on multiple missions - including anti-surface warfare, casualty evacuation and Exocet missile decoy.

This saw the media make him an figure that they used - and even encouraged him to be, "One of the boys" to whom those of female gender would be attracted to.

Whilst to those of consenting age and intellect of mature education, the eligible bachelor; - especially with royal background, was certainly a catch to be had.
  • And the Country knew this.

Whilst all seemed 'in order' = especially prior to his marraige to "Fergie"
- Somewhat of a better choice to actress Koo Stark

The later allegations however, saw a darker side of the playboy Prince exposed, when, during the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, former girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein, disgraced financier and sex offender, jurors heard tales that shook the firm (Royal family), with tales of Epstein's private plane trips with a 14-year-old girl in the mid 1990s.

The media then turned full fronted - as they should - though it was/is pehaps somewhat hypocritical of them to do so with a 'clean hands' point of view.

The decision for him to step back and away from 'Royal duties' and title/s, was inevitable though somewhat belated.
It is in truth another case of the consequences of the actions of an egged-on youth of a previous generation catching up with the modern age of accountability.

Those who stand in the limelight are more likely to be be tempted, live a life of opprtunity whilst in the moment, but also, - receive the condemnations and steeper decline of a "mis-spent" youth when exposed in latter years.

Sadly, this is not a singular case and many more, yet less well-known cases are still out there who are still suffering the indignity and abuse of an innocence taken.
IMO 🇬🇧

I always thought Andrew's involvement had to something to do with the earlier cover ups, non prosecutions and plea deal. His handlers and British intelligence properly had some sway early in the game.
I'm guessing you're speaking of his 'involvement' w/Epstein? From what I read, yes, a lot of deals and payouts were done in cover up mode.

Precisely, Holly. However, our Presidents' brothers were generally hidden well from the public and the media kept quiet about what they had gotten into.
Well, there was Billy Carter, brother of President Jimmy Carter. Billy was a buffoon, a mild embarrassment, but except for once urinating on a runway in view of reporters, he seemed somewhat harmless.
