Princess in the Tower!

My daughter reminded me the other day about a game at the park I invented when my girls were 5 or 6 years old.

They'd both sit opposite on the teeter totter...one of them would go down and the other would rise up high in the air. I'd yell out...

"There's a Princess in the tower!! I'm going to save her!!"

So I'd run over to my daughter and she'd quickly drop down to the ground and I'd be left grasping and hugging thin air. Then the other daughter was up in the air and I'd yell out...

"There's another Princess in the tower! I'm going to save HER!!!

She'd drop down and I'd again stumble and grasp at thin air as she fell beneath me. The girls thought this was absolutely hysterical and would roar with laughter...me running back and forth every time...whiffing at thin air...as they went up and down.

My girls aren't little anymore. They just turned 18...yikes!...legal adults! But I really get wistful for those days when being silly all of the time was par for the course, and goofy, repetitive jokes would make my girls titter with laughter. :)

The Blind Game!

When my girls were just toddlers, I'd put them on my shoulders and they'd wrap their little hands around my eyes so I couldn't see.

Then I'd say, "Is that the phone ringing?? I bet answer it!!"

Then I'd pick up the clothes iron and hold it to my ear and yell out, "OUCH!! D'OH!!!"

Then I'd say, "I'm going to watch some television". I'd walk over to the microwave oven and press the start button...and the microwave would go off and I'd yell out, "What!!! That's not my TV!!!

And on, and on...

Again, they thought this was hysterical!

Ahhh...they were so easy to laugh back then. I really miss those 'Silly Daddy' days.

Yep, I'm enjoying every little bit of silliness I can with my great-granddaughters. The time will come all too soon when Meemaw's antics won't amuse them.

Their favorite right now is the "lumpy couch game". I pretend that I don't see them on the couch and lean against them, complaining loudly that the couch is full of lumps and very uncomfortable. In fact, there are very large bugs in the couch that I have to squash.

Lots of shrieking and wiggling ensues.

Thanks for the great story, @Beezer I can hear those little girls giggling. Time with a loving father is so precious šŸ˜„

Yes...all good stories, I used to play catch with my grandson and I'd exaggerate the old woman bit when I caught the ball,
really made him laugh, now he is a big eight years old and past all grandma's nonsense.
