Before you were diagnosed with High BP...did you ever bleed from your eyes ?
Oscash, when you feel the pressure rising, can you please describe it?My blood pressure is always high when I see my doctor. I've heard that the blood pressure should always be taken after sitting quietly for at least 5 minutes. My doctor asks many questions, and I can feel the pressure rising. He told me to take my own blood pressure early in the morning and bring him the results. I do take tablets for it. Never heard of bleeding in the eyes though.
my High Blood pressure was found from a Eye test ,I lost vision for an hour rather like a thick fog , i went straight to a optitian who saw something not right, so was sent to Hospital , I think at first they thought the Retina had detached , but it was a Vein that had burst , no blood came out my eye . I was then refered to my GP who when took my BP rang for an Ambulance it was 210, Ive since had it higher , but survived . I keep up with my Eye tests because so much can be seen though the eyes ,Before you were diagnosed with High BP...did you ever bleed from your eyes ?
This happened just without any prior problems. FM was bleeding from their eyes ( I wish I could show the photo).. out of the blue. They thought at first they'd scratched themselves.. wiped the blood away, and then a few days later the same thing happened.. Following tests they were put on Statinsmy High Blood pressure was found from a Eye test ,I lost vision for an hour rather like a thick fog , i went straight to a optitian who saw something not right, so was sent to Hospital , I think at first they thought the Retina had detached , but it was a Vein that had burst , no blood came out my eye . Well, for me, I see something @dilettante wrote and .... (just kidding.)when you feel the pressure rising, can you please describe it?
What was amazing about it was that the FM didn't panic when this happened.. and still now seems very calm about it....Well, for me, I see something @dilettante wrote and .... (just kidding.)
Mine can shoot up to over 200 and other than my face feeling hot I wouldn't know it was up. Mine is very fluid and it can be 120/80 one day 180 the next. The meds help. I've never had bleeding eyes though.
gruntlabor: When he puts the cuff around my arm, he does it so tight I start to get panicky as it hurts. It turned out it was a smaller one, and because I have large arms, I need the big one. Then he starts to inflate again, and I can feel my heart starting to beat faster, therefore a high blood reading. When he does it the reading can be 190/90 but when I do it at home its, 141/73 as of today. I do have to take a blood pressure tablet Candesartan 8mg. one per day. I have to see him again today and am not looking forward to it.Oscash, when you feel the pressure rising, can you please describe it?
I’m the same as you. When I test my own blood pressure at Walmart or Shoppers Drug Mart, it’s always lower than it is when I’m in his office. It’s actually REALLY common to have higher blood pressure while at the doctors office. There’s even a name for it but I forget what it is.gruntlabor: When he puts the cuff around my arm, he does it so tight I start to get panicky as it hurts. White coat syndrome. Definitely an old term; what doctors wear a white coat nowadays.I’m the same as you. I can understand this and I used to try a calming exercise before somebody came in to measure it.My blood pressure is always high when I see my doctor. Sorry, we're drifting.Anyone got an answer for my question please...?
It's a free medical service, to let you know that you're still alive.Well, for me, I see something @dilettante wrote and .... (just kidding.)
this is what's really got me thinking that maybe there's something else wrong. They were told that when the BP gets very high then the blood leaks from either the eyes or ears.Sorry, we're drifting.
I thought some more and recall some nosebleeds, but as I said no bleeding in or from the eyes.
..are you sure about that..I mean really certain ?... because my Family member has been told that their eye bleeds are due to BP, and have been put on Statins and have been on them now for 4 years...High BP causes Subconjunctival hemorrhage (the blood can appear in the whites of the eyes. The effect can look dramatic, but the symptoms are generally painless. SCH is not harmful).
FWIW: High BP does not cause eyes to bleed blood or ears to bleed. TY.
I think I will speak to my FM, and tell them perhaps they need to get a second opinion... because 4 years is a long time to one medication that might not be the right medication...Anything is possible in rarest of rare cases.
But High BP does not cause blood to be discharged from eyes or ears.
From nose, yes (not directly but high BP puts the patient to a higher risk of nosebleeds). TY.
I'm afraid you're telling me something I have no idea about, given I don't suffer from High Blood pressure..All Statins do is to reduce Cholesterol blood levels. TY.
I thought I answered it? In my first paragraph .Guess I wasn't direct enough ..... pardon.Anyone got an answer for my question please...?
