Tomorrow evening we are off to
VE Day 80. The brochure reads:
"A beacon and lamps of peace will be lit in Sturminster Newton to ‘shine a light’ on the 80th Anniversary of Victory in Europe. On Saturday 3rd May there will be a 1940s dance at The Exchange: dance to the Big Band sounds of the Moonlight Swing Band to truly bring the 40s party to life. Tickets £15 – dress for the 1940s, there’s a prize for the best costume."
Prize for the best costume. Costume? How dare they call it costume? Here's what I am wearing.

The waistcoat, tie & pocket square and the Oxford Bags trousers are all off my lady's sewing machine.
Five photos being the maximum means that last photo must show you my choice of blazer, made for me by John at
Fox Tailoring. The fedora is also bespkoke, courtesy of
Gamble & Gunn. The tie in the photo is different to the one that I will be wearing but the shirt is my choice for the outfit, and as you might have guessed, it was made by my wife.

When I laid out my choice, my wife's comment was: Mmm! 50 Shades of Grey!
Hopefully I will get some photos of the event, watch this space.
By the way, we have quite a busy weekend, I will keep you posted.
