Question; what is spirit and god without the mind?

God is a manifestation of the mind, not deity or the creator pictured in the Bible. Spirit is something else, an unexplainable connectedness to life in general. Spirit is the bridge that all living objects have a designated role of importance that makes this world what it is.

The term god is used as an explanation to mysteries we don't have an answer for, (how did we get here, why do things happen, (god's will) or why was I born? etc..We assume god knows. because we don't have an answer to these questions. It is the individual who decides the course of his/her life.

Is there a spiritual realm among us that most people are unaware of? I don't know. What about the supernatural? Is that a product of an overly active imagination and media influence? I don't know, however, I have yet to see any real magic beyond that of simply slight of hand.

Do monsters exist? I believe they do in the minds of men and women who possess a disregard to life, these are the real monsters. Perhaps big foot and the Loch Ness monster are a fluke of nature, but as real as you and me? Who knows?

Humans are gullible beings that under the right circumstances will believe almost anything that cannot be proven. the Bible is proof of that followed by intensive immersion into faith prompted beliefs, conditioning and reinforcement of beliefs through literature, song and verbal teachings. No wonder people are hard set in their beliefs based on the many ways of worship. Not to mention the fear of being left out or lost. Propaganda at its finest.

What about a sense of connectedness is that spirit or an adaptation of consciousness? I believe the latter.

So this is where it gets complicated. We are social animals, and that means we are pre-programmed to act and think in a certain way. Not tat everyone, everywhere, thinks the same, but we do all seem to desire an answer to the big questions: Where did we come from, whom are we in the universe, etc.

Our mind is an incredible thing, but as big as it is, it's also limiting in that it's not fully able to understand all the complexities of life. So we fight against that.

by trying to make sense out of things we do not know. so god, the great unknown comes into play to provide the answers we do not know. Humans seem to need an answer for everything and by substituting god as the all encompassing answer for everything is more acceptable than simply not knowing. After all, you are talking about the human race here.

So, God is a manifestation of the mind, not deity or the creator pictured in the Bible??, yet 'Spirit', though UNEXPLAINABLE, is real??!

"God" is not a 'term' but our one and ONLY creator of all things told of in the Holy Bible in which many things that have happened were foretold would happen centuries before they did.

The term god is used as an explanation to mysteries we don't have an answer for, (how did we get here, why do things happen, (god's will) or why was I born? etc..

"Many of Mankind will go on seeking explanations to those mysteries we don't yet have answers for, more power to them."

We assume god knows. because we don't have an answer to these questions. It is the individual who decides the course of his/her life.

"Our creator God has gifted us with the right to decide the course we take for our lives. He did not create us humans to be His puppets. He could step in and end all evil, sickness, crime, pain and suffering, but that would mean breaking His Word to let us choose to live our lives not as puppets."

"Monsters, like Big Foot, Loch Ness monster? Who knows? I don't care one way or the other."

"I believe there is God, our creator whom has always been (blows my mind :) ) And not because I fear I better, or when I die I'll be no more, or worse, but because it's comforting to know He has my back no matter my troubles."
Do monsters exist? I believe they do in the minds of men and women who possess a disregard to life, these are the real monsters. Perhaps big foot and the Loch Ness monster are a fluke of nature, but as real as you and me? Who knows?

No. God is not a necessity, it's relevant to a point in time. We know far more than we did in 100BC (or whatever date you want to name). God is a concept, and a word, used in the past. It's not what we use today. We need to accept that we can't know everything. We will die without having every question answered. God is just another word/concept.

Right, God is not a necessity, unless, say, (one simple example) you're about to walk across a street and a truck is barreling down it, and you not knowing start to cross. Now, not having accepted God, you have not His Holy Spirit within you so it can't warn you to not cross, so you continue on, and splat!

Well, that leads to the next level of thought. In deciding what explains something unknown, where do we set the bar for evidence? I need physical evidence that has been through the scientific process and has been shown to be real by consensus. This means, I can't believe in a God. It also says, I would believe, if evidence came to light (evidence that reaches my bar for belief).

I believe religion is ultimately a method of control. In a society, we like to think we have the same aims, goals, and overall standards of living. For all time, it's the rich that have occupied and fed upon religion, and they have used it to control the peasants (like me). Being human, within those religions, they've had their own wars and battles.

For me, the only acceptable response to something I don't know is saying, "I don't know", and accepting it.

Hm, are you expecting God to alert to devout, but not the naysayers?

Robert Ornstein in his book God 4.0 on the nature of higher consciousness and the experience called God . Using this book as a reference I determined that god is a manifestation of my mind. For years I accepted god as part of my reality and to some extent I wish god was still a part of my life because I enjoyed his/her/its companionship.

I believe love is a good substitute for god because is not ego driven and sacrifice on my part for the wellbeing of all life and circumstances. It is about loving everything and everybody as much as I can for a single moment to start with. Increasing one's compassion for the world makes love grow stronger and more durable for the life I desire with myself. I am in control because my primary love is myself and in turn I determined my fate in relationship with the world I live in.
One must learn to love self before self can be sacrificed for the world.

the universe seems such an empty and lonely place ? - we seem to be the only creatures around it or in it - either this was just evolution from whatever first crawled out of the sea perhaps or we can choose to follow the biblical stories that have just seemed to have arrived at the mayhem in the middle east atm - different stories have evolved - judaism/christianity/Islam/Hinduism/Buddhism etc etc - which leaves us rather divided rather than all connected? - did adam and eve start it all or the dinosaurs who all got wiped out? - so many diversionary stories - wot to believe??
