The individual, and charismatic comedienne Joan Rivers has died one week after her ''little procedure' throat operation.

Love her or hate her, Joan was one of a kind.

I personally loved her acerbic humour, and will miss her lots as an entertainer.

R.I.P to a lovely lady who gave us many laughs, may she rest in Peace, and thoughts go to Melissa her daughter and cooper her grandson.

I know who she was, but have never heard any of her humour, so don't honestly know if I would have liked her or not.

I had no real opinion on her (never liked her humour) until I heard that she thinks that all the Palestinians deserved to die. And from watching the video, it would seem she included the little kids in that opinion. After seeing a photo of a distraught dad trying to put a toy into the hand of his two year old who had had half her head blown off, and then watching her say that, well, you can guess what my opinion of her is now.

One Twitter comment I saw says it perfectly for me, 'if Karma and reincarnation is real, may Joan come back as a Gaza baby'.

Debby I'm horrified if Joan did say that, and I have no reason to disbelieve you..do you have a link to the video where she said that all Palestinians deserve to die?

My daughter had mentioned this to me and when I looked it up, the above is what I found. And apparently then of course, she had stated on her FB page that 'the video took her words out of context'. Hmmm, context seemed pretty clear to me.

I think it's kind of a sad commentary that our society idolizes someone who made a career of being hurtful. Isn't that what this world needs less of instead of building up those who have a mean streak?

You just never know when any of us might go. She was something alright, I remember more about her in the early days. I think she was on Hollywood Squares seems like, she was funny. I really didn't "love" her stuff, or "hate" it. I figure she is like anyone else and did the best she could at surviving this life. RIP Joan.

Joan was sort of a female Don Rickles, but on steroids (as they say). I liked her back in the day on Sullivan and Carson. She did have some funny lines, but if she didn't like someone in Hollywood, she didn't leave no doubt about it.

I had forgot about River's and Johnny Carson's feud after she started her own talk show until they mentioned it on the news. When her new show was cancelled apparently that's one of the reasons her husband committed suicide. Got to give it to her, she came back and lived life to the fullest. Sometimes her schtick got old but sometimes she was funny.

I'm also curious about her procedure that messed her up. Sounds like someone wasn't paying attention. They're now attacking out patient care/procedures. An in-patient hospital bill is as likely to kill a patient as is a cheaper out-patient procedure.

WhatInThe, I never known what the fued was about. Does anyone here know?
She was offered her own show, Ina, and she accepted, and when Carson found out, he said he felt betrayed because she never told him, and he never spoke to her after that.

Misty, Carson must have had a big ego to think that he should be privy to her business. I wonder if he felt the need to inform others of his business dealings? Thanks for clearing that up for me. :thankyou:

You're Very Welcome, Ina. :love_heart:

It would seem Joan had a heart problem (arrhythmia) which she was very aware of even way back in an interview she gave in 1985, where she mentions that she has to be careful going under anaesthetic during plastic surgery

Given that she had sooo many surgical procedures it's a surprise she even lived to over 80..

The Health Department is investigating the Endoscopy clinic that treated Joan Rivers, and now the New York Police Department is investigating her death.

Knowing little about Jewish burials,I always thought that the body had to be buried within 24 hours ,so why is Joan Rivers still around?

Thank you Falcon.
Phyllis used to make jokes about herself and her imaginary husband Fang. :)
She was hilarious without being insulting to others.

This is the first time I heard that she died, so sorry to hear that, may she rest peacefully.
