The white room is way too stark and minimalist for me. On the other hand I do not like too much clutter at all so the second living room doesn’t work for me either.
Hotel rooms usually look very nice and what I noticed is they do not have any tiny items but have bigger ones and that is more pleasing to the eye. I no longer have any tiny knickknacks either. I have enough so that my home is not too stark, but not too much so that they get dusty and are too much to clean on a regular basis.
Now, if anything enters my home, something of a like item has to leave. So if I buy a piece of clothing or knickknack, something similar leaves. That way I keep my home in perfect harmony, and I don’t have to worry about it getting cluttered.
Recently, I asked for decorating advice from ChatGPT and took pictures of my entire condo room by room and it gave me advice. I didn’t think I had too many knickknacks, but it had me remove probably half of them. It also told me where to position items and every time I did what it told me it looked better than how I had it arranged.
However, it had no suggestions for rearranging any of the rooms because it said I had done the best job for my small rooms. I have moved 30 times in my life so I guess I’ve gotten good at positioning the furniture. It was really a lot of fun using ChatGPT for decorating advice and trying out what it told me and discussing the advice.
Of course, I didn’t always follow its advice 100% because they wanted me to get rid of a few items that are very important to me. After I told it that then it revised its advice and gave me other suggestions to display them tastefully.
Recently, I was watching some decorating shows and they did a bunch of remodeling on people‘s homes that had kids and then they staged the home with furniture, but I read that the family does not keep the furniture unless they want to buy it. They just want the home staged for when they show off how the home was remodeled.
I did wonder about that because all the living room furniture was white and all these people had kids so that would be a big disaster. It also wouldn’t be good if you had pets. I bought new living room furniture five years ago when I bought my condo and I keep the couch covered with a blanket.
One day my little dog threw up a ton and if I had not been home, it would’ve soaked through the blanket anyways, and stained my couch. Now I’ve got a double blanket on my couch. I just removed them if I’m having company.
