Ready to retire but can't

Hi, I'm Holly this sounds like an interesting group. I have a few years before I can retire yet. But with my luck I will have to work until I am 103 to be able to afford to retire

Hi Holly. I got fed up waiting to retire and went ahead and did it early regardless. Never looked back. I hope you find this place entertaining :welcome:
 
Welcome. I do hope you find a way to retire at the time that is right for you. There are some smart people here who might give you some good ideas on how to do that.
 
I got back into government employment decades ago, after having been in private industry for a while. The reason ? The fabulous and liberal government retirement system. I was able to retire at the unheard-of age of 53. It's probably too late for you to follow my example, but not too late for many others. Best wishes for your future.
 
Welcome from Florida. Don't give up too quickly. There are a lot of ways to save money in retirement if you are willing to make a few lifestyle changes. And remember, money not spent is better than the same amount earned. That earned has already been taxed. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the site
 
So, dont think about retiring. I think retirement is a mistake. Just move into easier jobs as you age!
I say that because the sudden change in pace at retirement leads to early death!
 
Remember, there's no shame in working. A part-time job could be the answer to your problem. :)
