Red Skelton's Secrets to a Lasting Marriage

Two times a week we go to a nice restaurant, have a little beverage, good food and companionship. She goes on Tuesdays, I go on Fridays.

Also, we sleep in separate beds. Hers is in California and mine is in Texas.

I take my wife everywhere, but she keeps finding her way back.

And we hold hands everywhere we go. If I let go, she shops.

I definitely married Miss Right. Took me a while to find out her first name was Always.

Just remember; marriage is the number one cause of divorce.

Like other comedians Red was a sad soul. I remember as a little girl his child, forgot son or daughter, died of leukemia. First time I ever heard of a child dying. I was very sad for child & him.

One of the few comedians that ended his show with, "Good night and God bless." I always respected him for that.
He was also an accomplished artist and composer. I remember playing "Red's White and Blue March" in the high school band.

Saw him on a connecting flight in Reno on our way to Bozeman Mt. He was already seated on the plane in Reno.
We shared a quick laugh with him on our way to our seats. I will never forget that.
