Refilling Your Gas Tank

Since its winter and the weather is unpredictable, I try filling it up on warmer days. I hate putting gas in the car when it's freezing out. I don't go out of my way to save a few cents on gas. I usually pick a place that's the cheapest on the route I'm on. I try not to let it go under a half tank, especially in the winter.
Yes! After filling up my tank in –20 F temperatures only once or twice, I definitely check the forecast.

I always fill mine when it hits 1/4 tank regardless of the weather, but in the winter, if I see a particularly brutal stretch of temperatures in the forecast I fill it before then no matter what level it's at.

We don't let the pick go below 1/2 tank. The Explorer gets filled between 1/4 & 1/2. If we are in either vehicle doing errands & see good prices, I'll top it off. Today I passed a Speedway that had gas for $2.12 & with the Speedy card, you get an additional 7-cents off, so that would make it $2.05/gallon.

I fill up about every 300 to 350 km. The fuel gauge is usually showing about 3/4 full or just below. As others have stated I don't want to get condensation in my tank and probably the biggest reason is because my Dad always hammered it into us that it doesn't cost any more to keep the top half full than it does the bottom half.
