They are just from duckduckgo wanting me use their browser. Right now I only use them as a search engine. Well it doesn't feel free to me if I have to accept their ads in order to use it.
 

I need to order groceries this morning. I will try to time the delivery to early afternoon. Hopefully it will be warmer by then. I am hoping we don't get any more snow by then too. I want to combine my trip out to the dumpster with the grocery delivery. That would work for me.

The new manager told me she will be here two days a week unless it snows. She lives quite away from here and does not like to drive on bad roads. That tells me she is another useless manager. Just here to collect rents and recertify tenants. At least the maintenance man comes here about 3 days a week. He is needed more than the manger is anyway. He lives just down the street.

So today other than ordering groceries I am not sure what I will be doing. I have laundry to do so maybe at least one load. I try to do it in small loads but I got backed up again. I was doing it by hand in my bathroom but hanging damp clothes around my apartment makes it too cold in here. So that is a good thing to do in hot weather but not now.

Yesterday I ordered groceries for my son from Walmart. For about 3 hours the status of order said, "Looking for a driver". Finally it said, "Driver heading to the store". It was really cold out and a Sunday so I guess nobody wanted to work. Finally got it and he needed the food. He goes through everything. Even when I say I need groceries I have food in my refrigerator, freezer and cupboards.

I guess that is why he thinks I am a store. I try not to share my food with him unless I have no choice. I buy him enough food but he does not eat healthy. Has certain foods he wants every time. I gave up trying to talk to him about food or money. Being his mother, I cannot eat if I know he does not have anything to eat. My friend thinks if I just say no food if you ate all of your food before the end of the month that will work. No it won't and she is not a mother so doesn't understand.

Would your son be able to learn to use a local food pantry or senior nutrition site when he runs short of food.

It may sound like tough love but I worry about what might happen when the day comes that he can’t rely on his Mom and needs to function independently.

He knows how to use the food pantry. It is right up the street from our building. The biggest problem he had with them is you can only go there once a month and they would tell him not to come back. He did not understand.

I worry about him too. But when someone will not go to a doctor it is difficult to get them any help. A lot of people with mental problems refuse to deal with doctors.

If I die first, he will be set up with a social worker who will take charge of his money. They give their client so much money each week after their bills are all paid. Then he would have to buy food with that money. Probably his tobacco too. Right now I buy big bags of it for the whole month (cheaper that way). Just would not be able to buy groceries from a grocery store. Dollar Tree and smoke shop. Not a good way to shop but that is what he would have to do.

The biggest problem I see with people who live here is not having transportation to go to the grocery store. Grocery delivery is great for someone like me who knows how to do things online. But a lot of people that live here don't know how to do it with a phone. If I had a vehicle I would take some of them shopping when I was going.

The lady upstairs wanted me to buy a phone for her from Walmart. When I said I would need her credit or debit card to do it.........she had neither. She wanted me to put it on my credit card and she would give me the cash. I could not do it at this time because I have just enough in my checking account to cover some bills. My credit cards I will not use for anything. I know it sounds mean but if she gave me the cash to pay back the credit card I would end up spending it. It is not like I can walk to my credit union and put the cash in and then pay the credit card.

I understand.

I’ve tried to help a couple of people by using my credit card and it always turned out badly for me.

I suppose that it comes under the general heading of no good deed goes unpunished.

Still, you hate to give up on people.
 
I don't know if it an aging thing or what but I used to enjoy walking outside in the snow. Now I look out my window and dread the idea of going outside in it. Even for just a few minutes. Well I have to do it today. So will dress as warm as possible. Grocery delivery and going to the dumpster too. I promised myself a pumpkin latte (keto version with coffee not expresso) when I return.
 
I had the same issue with duckduckgo. They hound you to make them your default browser. I just went back to Google. Let them spy on me I don't care. LOL

I don't hang my laundry all over. I put it in to soak and have a plunger just for that purpose to agitate it some. Let it soak for an hour or two and then I dump the water and add fresh water and a little fabric softner and agitate it again and leave it for another 30 min.

Then I dump the water and rinse the clothing good and wring it out by hand as best I can. Put it on plastic hangers and hang them on the grab bars in the shower. If I have a lot of laundry I have one of those folding drying racks and I drape or hang everything on that and leave it in the tub. By the next day it's dry enough to lift out of the shower and set in the bedroom by a heat vent.

Then I can shower. I use the drying rack when I have to wash sheets.

I'm glad I could make you smile. I missed ya yesterday.
