Reflections of My Life

Oh I feel ya Kat... some things are an offensive to the eye. I cannot bear a sink full of dishes.. the wors for me would be getting up in the morning and seeing dirty dishes in the sink... also going out and coming home to them..*Ugh*.. it makes me stressed just thinking about it..
My son laughs at me, when he comes over the dishwasher is always open. I just leave the door open because I put things in all day when I use a dish. I don't like to have dirty dishes waiting on me. He is afraid if he sits too long I will put him in the dishwasher LOL

I never went to that site altho' I had heard of it, is it still going ?
I don't know. Back then it was on Yahoo. Then she went to fakebook. She really helped a lot of people. I bought some of her merchandise, especially her calendar. She had a lot of good ideas and I still use some of them.

Yes, it is still going.

I am so sad about Mr. Bigglesworth. I don't believe he will make it. He is a rabbit that has no fur at all due to a genetic condition. So he is all pink. I have loved him from his pictures the moment I saw him. He has been very sick and had to be rushed 3.5 hours away to Melbourne to a better equipped rabbit hospital. His heart is enlarged and that is affecting his lungs. Soon he will not be able to breathe and I believe they will let him go. One person on the their page said her rabbit had that condition and with medications has already survived three years. Mr. B though, has that genetic condition so his system might not be as sturdy as the other rabbit.

From the fb page, Mr. Bigglesworth & Friends, this morning:

"Mr Bigglesworth is not just a “rabbit”, he a very loved family member that has raised a LOT of money for charities around the world.
He symbolizes “different is beautiful”, creates awareness on bullying.
We visit schools and talk about anti-bullying.
He has shown the world that differences need to be embraced, not shunned.
He helps people understand acceptance, kindness and diversity.
He is a symbol of hope for many.

I receive countless comments and messages daily about the impact that Mr Bigglesworth is making on individuals lives. Mr Bigglesworth brings smiles and happiness to thousands of people.
He has taught people about rabbit ownership and the joy rabbits can bring to a family.

Also since Mr Bigglesworth is the epitome of the outcast, most people connect with his “underdog” story and adore him for his endearing qualities. People embrace his physical differences, and have fallen in love with his cheekiness and connect to his message; that true beauty comes in all forms and radiates from within.

We will continue to support rescues and the Vets around the world that work so hard with these animals.

The pictures are just a small snapshot of what Mr Bigglesworth has done.

Nobody wants negativity when they are going through such a difficult time. So if you are here to say something nasty… move on!
.
Mr Bigglesworth has a rare hairless genetic condition, but we love him the way he is, please no negative comments."

Up early this morning with an extreme pain in my calf.......aka a charlie horse. Once that happens it is usually hard to go back to sleep. But I did. For a couple more hours. When I awoke, my calf still hurt and will probably hurt all day. I know what it is. Magnesium. I did not drink my electrolytes yesterday, except for what I put in my coffee. After I got up I massaged the magnesium oil into my calf and it went away instantly but I can still feel it had been there.

My new frother was delivered yesterday. So I used it this morning on my coffee. First off, it has only one speed so tomorrow I will use a larger cup.........it can make a mess! I have some larger coffee cups that Keto Chow sent me as a Christmas present (for being a customer) and I will have start using one of those. The effect of it though, is great! I loved it and this coffee tastes better even though it is the same coffee with cream that I always drink. Does the frother change the taste in some way, not really. Maybe the cream and electrolytes is just mixed in better.

While I was sitting here looking at the forum, I heard cats going crazy outside. I say to myself it is either a cat fight or a possible cat love-in. I think it was the latter. As the larger black cat made the move to smell the gray cat's behind, it backed away and then left. The gray cat was smaller and just waited till he was gone. Must be she did not want any part of him.

The good news today is that Mr. Bigglesworth has improved and was able to go home. He is on medications and it appears they are working. They had a video of him at the hospital before they went home and he was alert and active. So thankful for this. Him being so sick made me want to hug my bunny more.....but he reminded me that he does not do hugs. I can pet him though and give him nose rubs.

The two guys that live in the next two apartments from mine got into some kind of confrontation in the hall. I think it had to do with the grocery carts. Guy#2 put up a notice in the elevator that he was taking the cart (or carts, I don't know if it all of them or just one) back to the Grand Union because it was stolen from there. The fact is that the carts that are here have been here since I moved in 5 years ago and I don't know how long they had been here by then. Grand Union just replaced TOPS last year.

The people that live here are mostly disabled so using them for moving stuff is essential. They bring their groceries to their apartments with them. Or moving in and moving out to transport their items. In fact, the #1guy is in the process of moving and the grocery carts are needed for him to do that. So I think that he was pretty angry over the carts and the hand written notice in the elevator about them.

Living in an apartment building usually you can just stay to yourself and not have to interact with others if you choose not to. Then someone will take it upon their self to change something like this guy did. Did he do it on purpose knowing the other guy was moving and was using the carts? Maybe the carts made too much noise going in and out of the elevator and apartment. Now that I looked in the room that keeps the carts and there are several others in there. So why did he feel the need to write something out and put it on the elevator bulletin board? If he wanted to return it to the store, just do it and keep quiet about it.

Guy#1 is no angel! In 2019 he put a video camera aimed on the elevator that is directly across from my apartment. I was more than angry! He could see whoever came to my apartment and when they left. Yes, it was only my son and Sonny who came here but still I felt it was my privacy being invaded. It took the manager more than two weeks to be able to get that camera out of here. I called the police and they said there is no law against doing that. I was so close to knocking that camera down.

Wow, life is getting spicy over there lately!

I know that shopping carts can cost over a hundred dollars each, so stores don't want to lose them. Does he think he's being a champion of some sort? Keeping in mind the carts belonged to a different store (Tops) so they may have collected their losses already from their insurance. I don't think Grand Union owns them or ever owned them.

This guy sounds like a PITA, especially putting up that camera. You may be well rid of him!

I'm so happy Mr. Bigglesworth is improving. ❤️

I really will be surprised if Mr. Bigglesworth makes it. He had to be rushed to their local vet for oxygen. Now they are trying to find an oxygen concentrater to buy for him. Rabbits are very fragile and to be honest, I don't think I would put my rabbit through all that. Even though it possibly could save his life but having to live on oxygen and medications is not a life for bunny. At least my bunny. I am praying Mr. Bigglesworth makes it. I have become quite attached to him.

Price Chopper has put a device on their shopping carts so that they cannot leave their lots. The wheels stop working.

I think all the apartment buildings for disabled and elderly have shopping carts there to assist the residents. Not a lot, maybe 3-4. And they are not in the best shape so probably the stores would not want them back.

It snowed a bit last night and this morning. The snowplows were working in the early morning hours. My neighbor has a big U-haul truck parked outside to begin his move today. I will now have an empty apartment on both sides of me and across the hall...........was it something I said? lol :) Just a joke the other two people passed away and their apartments have been empty for awhile. Someone just moved in downstairs so now the first floor is completely rented.

Yesterday, my son came by and gave me a lovely compliment. He said my apartment is perfect. I said what? He said my apartment is perfect and his isn't because he is a guy and guys can't have perfect apartments. I said he could make it that way.

Committed Care called me and said the new aide is all signed up and ready to start work. A few minutes later she called. The fact that she called me back so soon is a good sign ( I hope). She will start on Monday morning. I am going to be very careful with her so she ends up staying in this job. I will be really needing her once I make the appointments to get the rest of my teeth extracted. Not looking forward to it but it has to be done.

For now, just drinking coffee. Learning how to use my new frother without making a mess......

My neighbor has been working with his family all morning moving his stuff out into the truck. They just left. His dog is still in the apartment and barking nonstop. He knows something is going on! Yesterday, when he got off the elevator with the dog and my friend and I were walking our laps, the dog wanted to run to us but he was carrying a big box, so he let him off his leash. He took off like a bullet to us to get his pets and loving. Sweet, sweet dog! Yes, I will miss him.

I just made a batch of mayonnaise and it came out pretty good. I was just not crazy about Primal Kitchen or Chosen's prices. It took about 4 minutes or less to make. Now I can go back to having ranch dressing again, which is my favorite. I use it for just about everything instead of other condiments.

Sonny is not coming here till tomorrow. So maybe instead of him picking up berries for Rabbit, I will just have him pick me up and I will go to the store myself (I rather). Not sure why he wanted to pick up the specific item that Rabbit needed. But Rabbit is not going to be happy tonight again with no berries for the 3rd night!

I like primal kitchen, it tastes the best, but yes it is expensive. I haven't tried making mt own mayo yet but it's on my list.

This morning it is cold, 12 degrees according to my phone. Yes, March can be a bear at times. People start getting eager for spring to start and instead we end up with the worse winter weather of the whole season. Early morning hours, from 3-4 AM, are usually the coldest time.

So tomorrow is the first day my new aide is going to start work. I am making a list of things for her to do tomorrow. Mopping the kitchen and bathroom is first on my list. Then a thorough cleaning of the bathroom including the shower. My shower is quite nice, big, all tiled. So it needs a good scrubbing that I just could not do very well. Going to keep her working for three hours, 11-2. The other aides I did not use efficiently, now I have learned. Since I am approved for 15 hours a week, I will get all the chores done that I have gotten behind on.

Sonny is taking me shopping today. Probably later in the day. He does not get around early in the morning anymore. That is okay though. Making a list and making room in the freezer. Since I am doing that I will probably skip my morning walk. Otherwise I can't walk very well in the store. I need to talk to him about the caster wheels on my mobility chair. I really need to use it and it has been down for months for one reason or another. It is just getting him to work on the repairs. The wheels are here just need them put on.

Need to see if Walmart has Pyrex 2-cup measuring cups.......the glass kind. To use my frother I would like to froth it up in something bigger than my normal coffee cup.......keep making a mess because it only has one speed and that is fast.

Sonny took me shopping to Walmart today. It was a zoo!! Packed! Got what I needed and was able to get the right kind of spring mix for Rabbit. He absolutely hates spinach and is not crazy about beet greens either. Sometimes they pack the spring mix with those to fill it up. I appreciate them filling the container as full as possible but he doesn't. I look at each one and lately the smaller (not the smallest) one has the type of greens he likes best. I guess I will be eating spinach salads this week.

I came home and laid down with my feet up for about half an hour. Then cleaned Rabbit's cage. While I was cleaning his cage I reheated my leftovers from last night, taco burger bowl. So that was quick meal and now washing dishes and filling water containers for the refrigerator.

My neighbor (soon to be ex-neighbor) has been moving all day yesterday and today. He didn't have to do much except supervise and drive the big U-Haul truck. His daughter and her kids and some of their friends (teenage boys) did it all. She would not let him do anything. It is nice to see when kids are that way to their parents.

Today my new aide will be starting her job with me. I am praying this works out. As much as I did not want an aide before...........I feel like I need one now. I made a list of things for her to do today. When she was here we discussed the days she would come, so far I believe it will be on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM. Of course, that hits my eating window but on those days I will have something prepped to eat that does not take time up in the kitchen when she can be cleaning. I chose those days because when I make appointments it is always on Tuesdays or Fridays. That gives her nine hours a week to begin with. When and if I need extra help for some reason she can stay longer since I am approved for 15 and right now I am her only client.

Good luck with your new aide Kat. Hoping she works out okay for you.

Un- ferkin- Believable... .. just beyond belief, Kat... what do you have to do over there to get someone who is being paid to clean... to clean a tiny apartment.. fer cry eye... 😫
I keep seeing that people do not want to work anymore. I cannot understand it. She is not a young woman, said she was bored staying home after she retired so wanted to work. I am trying to give her the benefit of the doubt. It is hard with my past history of trying to hire an aide to clean my tiny apartment.
