Reflections of My Life

I am sitting here drinking my morning coffee thinking about what I want to do today. Might do laundry. If I do, I will vacuum tomorrow. I consider both jobs as big ones that take a lot out of me. So don't do both of them on the same day. The hardest part of doing laundry for me is hanging it in the closet. Hurts my shoulders the next day. And yes, I am that crazy lady that hangs my tee shirts in the closet because it is easier than folding them. Gives me more drawer space for other things.

I have been watching the videos lately that are called "reaction" videos. My favorite one is from the UK and he loves anything American. He has not been here yet but is planning a trip in the future. It amazes me how there is so much I take for granted here that he goes crazy over. And how different our foods, houses, stores, roads, etc. are. Last night I was watching the video about American pies (a restaurant in London makes American food because the owner is from Mississippi). He said he had never anything pumpkin before! I could not believe it. One of my favorite flavors!

that's very odd video.... firstly the voice over guy is Northern English...... and I don't know where these yougsters have been raised but we grew up on apple pie, rhubarb pie, Lemon Meringue pie ..and loads of others as well as savoury pies.. How odd!

It is this one bought on Amazon.

Keurig K-Express Single Serve K-Cup Pod Coffee Maker, 3 Brew Sizes, Strong Button Feature, 42oz Removable Reservoir, Black

View attachment 423089

The reservoir is on the back. I can fill it up instead of filling it for one cup at a time. Another thing I like is the reservoir is removable and clear. So I can see how much water is in it.
kat,

I made a Walmart run this morning and picked up this exact model!

I’m still getting used to it but I believe that it will be perfect for me.

Thanks for the information!

I love watching his reaction to things. He makes me laugh. Maybe he should do stand up. At first I could not understand him because of his accent but also he is very loud.Since I have been watching him for awhile now I can understand him. He said he lives 3 hours from London. His mother is a whole other thing. She is funnier than he is.

yes that's northern England... yorkshire area.. as I could tell from his accent....

I got up a bit late this morning. Felt hot to me but must be it is only me because the temp is 64. I see we are supposed to have storms this afternoon. I hate that but it is not as bad here as it was at my previous home. Just soaked my feet in some cold water. Feels better now.

I have had a quiet day. Mostly watched videos and colored while squeezing in my daily housework chores. Have not heard from Sonny today but I knew I wouldn't He is officiating at a motorcycle race in Owego. He has never done that at a motorcycle race before usually stock cars and go-karts. So he will have a lot to talk about tomorrow!

Having my coffee with the window open right now. Feels good with the cool air coming in. This apartment building built with brick really holds the heat. Reminds me of my rock garden beds at my house. They stayed warm from the sun through out the night. Sometimes that feels like it was just a dream that I lived that life. Then my friend calls me and asks me questions about gardening or canning and I think to myself, "yes, I used to know all that stuff." I have to dig around in my brain to find the answers to her questions.

I have a grocery order coming this morning and after that I hope to get some laundry done. Other than that, no real plans for my day.

It's an odd thing for me, this fading memory stuff.
I feel weak when I know that I used to know a certain thing but can't remember how to think it out... if that makes sense at all?
Things like animals, birds, trees or whatever.... there was a time that I knew the names, tracks, sounds they made... now, more and more the info is just not there.

But I am glad that I'm forgetting the depressing things, lol... nice to let those go.

I hold on to the simple theory? that if we don't use our memories on these topics regularly then they can unfortunately decay and get lost so perhaps the solution is simple keep using the memory all the memory on what you know.? say he who is losing his too!!

I don't like to dwell in the past but I do not want to forget it either. When I look at my pictures from past years it keeps those times alive. Plus I use those experiences when writing blog posts. It is weird but I have always been able to remember details about even my childhood. I can picture my grandmother's house and where she kept everything. Yet now I have to write things on the calendar to remember that I did that on a certain day.

Yes, I would say keep using it. Even writing it down like a memoir of your life.

well talking to us all through your diary is an excellent way to keep the old brain cells ticking

its lovely to read these day to day diaries from people like yourself and Pappy but I just feel like a bit of a 'show off' talking to people about my day to day affairs [ well not many of them these days!] but I do suppose it rather like watching a series of films and I do enjoy what you are all doing and it does exercise this little brain cells - I often marvel though how these great actors learned and remembered all their lines throughout the films

I figure there are a lot of single old ladies like me out there and maybe they would be interested in doing some of the things I do. For years I have written on my blogs (at one time I was writing 4 and had an Amazon store and an eBay store) and people were interested in my life. Most of my friends on FB are people who followed my blogs. I once had a FB page for my blogs, so I had to write content for that too. Good thing I like to write.

Did you blog during your time at the house?

I would like to read your blogs, if you allow it. If not, I completely understand! :D
