Regular gas here is now $4.89 a gallon

CNBC reported the average price per gallon in the U.S. is now $5.00 per gallon. Here in my part of PA, gas is $4.99 today. It’s hard to say where it will stop, but I have noticed fewer people on the highways locally. I doubt if anyone will cancel their vacation. People will still get away.

I think that's true for this summer. There's so much pent up demand to see far away loved ones. I think people's bank account balances will mess with their travel hopes fairly soon after that though.

While I was in Florida just a few weeks ago, I read in the newspaper that Disney Workd and Universal Studios stated that they did have several cancellations, but not enough to do any serious financial harm. I know our neighbors down there have a season pass that is up for renewal and they were debating whether to renew or not. They have a lot of friends and family, especially grandchildren that visit them and they get their use out of the passes. We are only about 30 minutes from Disney World, but I like Universal better, which is just a few miles apart.

In Alberta, the gas is around $1.89/liter which is almost 25 cents cheaper than in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. There it is common to see the price at $2.06/litre. But, I have "good" news. Many say that the price is heading up to $3/litre. Time to get rid of your big 4X4 gas guzzlers. You don't really want people laughing at you when you pull up to the pump!

I’m not getting rid of mine. I just bought a new Buick Enclave w/AWD. I get about 21-22 mpg around town. Gas might get to $6 a gallon where I live, but I don’t have anywhere too far to go and I only use about a tank a month.

:p:ROFLMAO:

Seriously though, Costco has called great attention to their massive supplies of TP & PT since the shortages two years ago. Pallets and pallets of them in a couple of places in the store, presumably meant to reassure customers that we don't need to hoard.

Even so, most people I know keep a bit more TP & PT on hand than pre-pandemic. Once burnt, twice shy.
Oh, @StarSong , I am making this up to make you all laugh. Actually, we still have toilet paper from the the time the pandemic began. I was only trying to be silly. OMG, I just noticed that the pallets are of 45 toilet paper rolls.
