Remember loyalty buying of a certain Manufacturer?

We started out our married life with furniture and appliances from Sears & Roebuck.

Well, we all know what happened to Sears. It was run down by it's CEO. The Kenmore and Craftsman name sold.
End of an era.
My house has a very active sump pump and I typically get around a year out of a pump. I always used Sears Craftman brand pumps because they had a lifetime warranty, it was great, I'd take the old one in and they'd had me a new one. I bet I went thru 15 pumps before they dropped the lifetime warranty on their products, I was sad.lol

Not brands per se, but I'll always pay more for products that are "all or substantially all" (legal term) manufactured in the USA. I once lost a job when the company was bought by a Taiwanese company and moved to China. It was a real wake-up call.

35 years ago, I moved from an apartment to a 1 1/3 acre place. At that time, the most trusted name in lawn tractors, etc., was Craftsman- Sears. Every powered thing in my shed is Sears. The tractor still runs. I religiously check the oil once a decade.- you just can't kill it.
