Remembering 9-11

I have a friend in Manhattan who witnessed people who had run from the buildings. She lost friends, so, this anniversary is particularly close to her heart.

Hopefully, there will be nothing like this happening again in our lifetime - or ever.

May all those souls Rest In Peace.

My cousin lives just down the street from the towers .......... She said she wanted to look away, but just stared, and cried. She said she was just scared , and remained that way for quite sometime

My very good friend Jason Dahl who was the Captain and pilot on United Flight 93 that went down in Shanksville, PA on 9/11. Jason was a pilot on the Boeing 757/767 same planes that I flew. I knew him and his wife Sandy very well. Whenever I had a layover in Denver and Jason was home, I would stay with them so we could catch up. Both were very good people. Sandy passed away 11 years after Jason died on 9/11/2001. Sandy died on 5/25/2012 at the age of 52. Many people believe that Jason's plane was headed for Washington, D.C. to strike the Capitol.

Never will forget...I was at work....A phone call came in the office to my friend...Her husband was on the highway and can
see the buildings when the first plane hit....My husband was working in Jersey City, NJ and saw the plane crash in one of the building..
We had to get the kids to the bus...Didn't know what else would happen...But the bus's came fast to take them home...
My husband had waited for his ride to get home...He didn't get home till the Night...We lived 2 hours away...

I remember when this event happened. I had just got home from work, showered and went to bed. As I laid there and flipped through the channels, I saw a news clip of a plane hitting the tower on the show “Imus In the Morning.” I couldn’t turn it off.

Here we are 19 years later and I think how resilient the U.S. has been. We came together on that day and I saw so many homes and businesses with flags hanging and flying from their building. We have our differences, but we have always found a way to rise above and come together and even now, in times like we are experiencing now, we will again.

God Bless America.

I was watching a documentary about this last night. They were trying to explain what caused the explosions which triggered the collapse of the towers. It seems the aluminium in the plane melted, mixed with water from the sprinklers and caused the whole building to blow up.

I have been to the memorial in Shanksville many times. Flight 93 was a plane of heroes who took a vote before attempting to overtake the terrorists and get the plane on the ground safely.
