Remembering tooth powders

After having tube toothpaste burst open twice in my pack I starting using tooth powder in Vietnam......I remember it was really gritty and tasted like cr*p but it got the job done.

I remember a can of Dr. Lyon's tooth powder in our medicine cabinet when I was growing up. I also remember choking half to death when I decided to give it a try on my own. I guess I inhaled while it was still in powder form on the brush. I never went near it again. After awhile the can started to rust and my mom got rid of it.

LOL, I'm sorry Ruth, that struck me so funny, and exactly something I would try (and maybe did, then forgot). I know I saw those cans too, either at Gramma and Gramps, or maybe our house;)

Neat to see we had "health nuts" even back then! Check out that Melmac plate;)

I used the powder a couple of times, but I don't remember where. I think I didn't like the dryness and prefer the paste.

I remember my mom got on the powder is better than paste kick. The Colgate looks familiar, but I can’t remember the kind she bought. I complained about it so she said to use Baking soda. Lordy, there just was no justice. After my stepdad started complaining about it, we went back to a paste.
