You came to the right place for me. I am a retired professional guitar player. I traveled with a "show" and dance band called "Street Life". I am ok with standards, but big show tunes and good covers were our main thing. I played with a many a piano player. One played at a fancy bar. He teaches now. I played lots of music with him. I am in Missouri, so jamming might be a little difficult.

Welcome aboard! I'm more of a singer than an instrument player, but I just love piano bar guys and that triggered a memory. The best one that I've ever run across was on one of the first cruises we ever took. It was a ship that had what I consider more of a real piano bar with seating built right into the bar around the piano. The guy toodled away effortlessly while conversing with patrons. Someone would suggest a song, he would, over a few bars, play right into it. When the requester would start wailing away at it, he could, so smoothly, modulate into whatever key the singer was in, or was trying to be in.
