Retirement? What's that mean?

I'm more exhausted and stressed out in retirement than when I was working..
I feel ya Sunkist! See my reply #14. My mother, husband and son used to tell me I was busier in retirement than when I was working. I became "chauffeur", baby sitter, caretaker and more of a helpmate. After my car was totaled, at least chauffeuring people around stopped. Eventually the other things did as well.

So I'm one of those guys that doesn't really see retirement in his future. I'm not sure I can really imagine a time where I won't be working. Besides, I love my career (I'm a clinical counsellor).
Anyone else ever faced this? How did you adjust?
ā€œSometimes it’s hard to tell if retirement is a reward for a lifetime of hard work or punishment.ā€ – Terri Guillemets
Had retirement, just short of turning 80, forced on me. It's been a few months now but given the opportunity I would return to work in the blink of an eye.
