ty...looking at murfreesboro or syma(if spelled right)..I'll jump in about living in Tennessee. We moved from Nebraska in 2009 to Nashville and have had no regrets.
Sure the cost of living is higher (Nashville) but we enjoy the Sports, Concerts, restaurants, etc.
The weather is mild by Nebraska standards, mostly easy summers and winters.
Have not lived 'out in the country' of Tennessee, but the folks we know that do, enjoy the openness.
And Welcome to the Forum.
also better then ny weather..ty...looking at murfreesboro or syma(if spelled right)..
yea..where i was raised in upstate ny..was in the snowbelt..so tired of snow...lolWe live in Huntsville , which is in northern Alabama, and close to the Tennessee border. I really like it because of the milder winters (no more shoveling snow !) and a nice growing season. I don’t like all of the humidity in the summer, and you never know when one of those thunderstorms is going to turn into a tornado.
Huntsville seems to miss most of the tornadoes, and they go either north or south of us here; but they can happen anywhere.
I am originally from northern Idaho, where we always had snow that measured in feet, not inches, and stayed for months and not days. Here, because no one has snow tires, and cities have no snow removal equipment, everything shuts down completely with an inch of snow.

The only thing missing here in Nashville, sports wise, is a Major League Baseball Team.I really enjoy going to Nashville. Been there several times. I have friends in Winchester and they enjoy living in Tennessee very much. They were from Wisconsin.
I live in Cookeville TN and planning on moving to a large area with mainly retires that is called Crossville. Crossville has lower property taxes.

Whilst I love the State of Tennessee I would say that perhaps we were unlucky on our last visit with the weather. The rain came down in biblical fashion. So heavy that I was unable to continue driving and pulled over, like most other motorists.I'll jump in about living in Tennessee. We moved from Nebraska in 2009 to Nashville and have had no regrets.
