just wondering..if there any retired members from tenneesee..as im planning on relocating there at end of summer..looked it up and got good reviews..any thoughts welcomed.

I'll jump in about living in Tennessee. We moved from Nebraska in 2009 to Nashville and have had no regrets.
Sure the cost of living is higher (Nashville) but we enjoy the Sports, Concerts, restaurants, etc.
The weather is mild by Nebraska standards, mostly easy summers and winters.
Have not lived 'out in the country' of Tennessee, but the folks we know that do, enjoy the openness.

And Welcome to the Forum.

ty...looking at murfreesboro or syma(if spelled right)..

We live in Huntsville , which is in northern Alabama, and close to the Tennessee border. I really like it because of the milder winters (no more shoveling snow !) and a nice growing season. I don’t like all of the humidity in the summer, and you never know when one of those thunderstorms is going to turn into a tornado.
Huntsville seems to miss most of the tornadoes, and they go either north or south of us here; but they can happen anywhere.

I am originally from northern Idaho, where we always had snow that measured in feet, not inches, and stayed for months and not days. Here, because no one has snow tires, and cities have no snow removal equipment, everything shuts down completely with an inch of snow.

I really enjoy going to Nashville. Been there several times. I have friends in Winchester and they enjoy living in Tennessee very much. They were from Wisconsin.

The only thing missing here in Nashville, sports wise, is a Major League Baseball Team.
We have a new stadium for our Minor league team, The Sounds, and we go to quite a few games.

Nice seats for around $20.00 USD and on Thursday's they have 'Throwback Beer price' day!

Beer, Hotdog and some peanuts. Get an Uber from the house and I'm all set!

Whilst I love the State of Tennessee I would say that perhaps we were unlucky on our last visit with the weather. The rain came down in biblical fashion. So heavy that I was unable to continue driving and pulled over, like most other motorists.

You're in Lake County right? Beautiful area but isolated and fires.

I wish I had the freedom to look around (stuck due to elderly stepfather) but also being single, it would be very hard. I know people who did leave from my former hair dresser to co-workers. I've heard of no one returning.

Keep the forum posted. It's very exciting.
