R.I.P. With Us In Spirit Only
This minute we have 387 lurkers just reading but not joining in. Come on lurker, join and be a part of the grand group of oldies here in Senior Forums. Promise if you sign up and introduce yourself, we'll greet ya and make you one of us, which is a very good thing.:)

Some of those "lurker's" could be young folks who just want to see what us old/older folks are talking about/saying. They would have no intention of joining a Senior website, because they know it is a website for Senior age people. Some "lurker's" are just plain curious, but don't/won't join in.

I think there have been several Threads wondering about "lurker's". Apparently, the "lurker" thing really does disturb some of us. Doesn't bother me........I've got use to seeing a high number of people "looking" at mine, and other's, Threads and not replying. Just the way it is.

Same thing goes with filling out the Profile page. SB says it's not a requirement, but many members of this forum sure would like to see it done more. Thing is, not everyone wants to be open about themselves as some others do, and since it's not a forum requirement, some "newbie's" fill in very little, if anything at all. Again..........just the way it is.

I've read that some seniors and others say they are shy about posting on a forum. I don't understand that. You can be shy in person but how can you be shy in the comfort of your own home? Oh well....

Matrix said that most of the watchers arrived at the forum because SF came up in a list of search results. In no way are they prospects. What is a little unsettling is how many official members are totally inactive.

Because, even "in the comfort of your own home", people can say things back to you that you may/may not like. They don't want to take the chance of being slammed.

You please yourselves, guys, don't feel pressured to join in.

If you've something to say, do so, but let it be your choice, not somebody else;s. Most of us have had enough of that sort of pressure in our lifetimes.
