Ummm, driving on highway and obstructing view, damaging hearing and risk flying glass. Along wtih risking his passenger. To top it off he felt the need to post on youtube.

Why it's legal or necessary for ordinary citizens to drive around with lethal force at their fingertips is beyond my understanding.

I also don't get why anyone is surprised at incidents like this, given the above.
I for one am not (at all) surprised.

This is the result when you allow a country to spiral out of control and hand everyone guns to do it.

In every class of new Cadets that I had attended, someone always asked the question, "What happens if we shoot through our windshield." The question has become so frequent that we now just include it in the program when we go onto the range.

Don't get me wrong, I've never harmed another human being, but I get road rage. I can't explain it, but being behind the wheel and having some jackass do some aggressive act, I lose it. I guess we all have certain buttons, and when someone presses that particular one, it gets me. Is it stupid, dumb, Neanderthal? yes, but the button got pushed. If someone did the same act to me when I wasn't behind the wheel, I doubt I would have the same intense response. It has to do with being in the car, what??????Thankfully nothing has ever come from my road rage.

People should start mounting their guns on the top of the roofs of their vehicles just like police cars have mounted lights, that way when a driver breaks-down and needs to throw a little 4 y/o tantie (temper tantrum), no windshield replacement will be necessary.

What's next for the new cadet class, a free box of armour piercing rounds?

That may work. The driver could be like a fighter jet pilot. He could site in his enemy and then push the fire button. That way, he wouldn't have to stop and get out of the car or waste any time. Just keep on moving on.

I don't see why not.

In all seriousness, 911, regarding what transpired in the video, does that seem sane to you?

Does it reflect a sense of the person being responsible?

Where did the rounds go that missed their mark?

Was there any consideration about the safety of other drivers on the highway/freeway?

Or is this a reflection of what gun-ownership in the USofA has come to?

Start at the beginning. Windshield are made in layers. They are made with safety glass and plastic between the layers. I don’t know the exact process, but you understand what I mean. When we shoot through a w/s, the glass does explode, but only at the point of impact, not the whole w/s. We used both full metal jacket and hollow points. Both types missed their mark by our expert shooter from Sig Sauer.

According to Sig Sauer, when anyone shoots through a w/s and because it is made in layers, the bullet is deflected upward, so if the shooter is expecting accuracy, he/she will be disappointed. Even if the shooter uses an x-ray sight, he/she should expect the bullet to miss it’s target.

Here in PA, there is no law against drivers who become enraged and gives another driver the bird or curses him, but even flashing a gun will probably get you in trouble. It always seemed to me that people have trouble turning the other cheek and walking away, which is the smartest thing to do. We have always encouraged people to call us if someone flashes them a gun. This is an act of intimidation, which can go bad in a hurry.

Unfortunately, here in the U.S. we have some gun owners who are just plain nuts. The majority of gun owners are sensible, but there are some that look for trouble.

I suspect the driver in the video will see no repercussions for his dullard actions, otherwise something would have been mentioned related to.

I gather in Florida anything goes.

Cut in front of me in a grocery store lineup... 🔫

Get out of your vehicle with a scowl on your face and walk towards me... 🔫

Meet me on the street and look at me the wrong way to the point of me feeling threatened... 🔫

You’re pretty much on the mark. Florida has had their share of gun issues. I used to hear and read stories about California also, but nothing confirmed. We do have more guns on the street now than ever before.

California's road rage epidemic involving shooting incidents has tapered off...most of Southern California's freeways are hopelessly gridlocked 24/7-365, so no sense in getting worked up and overheated when nobody's going anywhere quickly anyway.

About road rage: it usually takes TWO to make a proper road rage incident, if you don't engage when an Adam Henry crosses your path, you can enjoy the rest of your drive in a meditative calm.

I like your idea, Aunt Marg. And to develop it further, the next generation of macho vehicles should have a missile launcher on the roof.
