"Hypocrisy on the part of whom?"
Those folks, obviously, who decry the killing and abuse (assume killing IS abusive, yes?), of animals, in general, but accept as "normal and not abusive", the killing of animals in some other light. Hypocritical.
You either believe that "Killing and/or abusing animals", unconditionally, is unacceptable, or you do not. To "qualify" killing and/or abusing" based on abstract reasons, is hypocrisy.
Please be aware, I am not trying to argue against your point. We are both in agreement that the treatment of animals is of prime importance. Visit any slaughter-house, where animals are routinely killed, as I have, and then please return here with your concensus about the acceptability of that killing, versus some frivolous Spanish bull-killing. imp
