Russia still wants to annex Alaska, getting closer.

Russia has been trying to claim our state ofAlaska for some time now, and recently there was a petition sent to the White House to return Alaska to Russia. I don't think the Americans living in Alaska want to be turned over to Russia, or have to move back to one of the other states; so it is kind of obscure just who would be signing the petition. Maybe Russians who are here in America ??
At any rate, the latest step in the takeover is to declare the Arctic Continental Shelf between the two countries to be part of their continent , as opposed to being part of Alaska. They have filed a petition for this, and the scientists are going to study it and try to determine just which continent it is part of. It is the area around the Chukchi Sea that is being studied.

Don't we have someone on the forum from Alaska. They will need to be consulted and maybe Sara Palin.

On March 30, 1867, Secretary of State William H. Seward agreed to purchase Alaska from Russia for $7.2 million.
Is this another foreclosurer by the Obama bank?
 

I wouldn`t think that USA would let Alaska go or resell it back to Russia? its too valuable for America ! I hope Obama says noo !
Russia I think are only after their own ends, they thought it would be taken over by the British.. isn`t that why they sold it to America? now they want it back ..similar to Crimea? In 1954 Nikita Khrushchev gave Crimea to Ukraine, which was then a Soviet member state, It was then a symbolic gesture meant to cement Russian -Ukrainian friendship, The Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 , leaving Crimea as part of Ukraine..now they want it back as its the only deep water they can have access to their navy fleet.. they see how valuable these places are that they sold now they want them back.. greed ! you think?.. lol typical.. !
 
Maybe Alaska is safe for a while longer. I just found this article that says they are most interested in developing a permanent base on the moon. This is certainly going to take them a long time, and a lot of money; so maybe they will just go there instead and leave us alone here in our little part of the world.
